Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Is that not for essential folk, hospital workers, guys spraying disinfectant everywhere, etc?
Yeah, but even at the best of times it's just fellow immigrants and schoolchildren who use public transport so they're just rolling around empty.

'Seville is a ghost town'

Ione Wells
BBC News
Seville, Spain's fourth largest city, is usually full of bustling crowds: people elbowing each other to get a space around a tapas bar and packs of tourists eagerly queuing outside the historic cathedral.
But this weekend, it looks like a ghost town.
The streets are deserted. Shops, restaurants, tourist sites and many hotels are boarded up as people are told they are only allowed to leave their homes for essentials.
Police cars slowly circle the empty streets, stopping occasionally to usher people on.
One group of bemused tourists I saw eating sandwiches in the sunshine of a square were swiftly told to leave, as police reminded them that it's "forbidden" to sit or stand in the streets.
The problem is, many of them are waiting for flights home, and don't have anywhere else to go.

6 million Celtic fans on their way.

This has brought out the worst in people.

Why doesn’t socialism work? Cause humans are greedy arseholes. Ordinary people off the street would let people suffer to make £5.

This makes literally no sense

Decided not putting kids to nursery now. Too much of a risk for me. The statistics for those that have cancer are not enjoyable reading. I'm not currently on treatment (chemo) but as I have blood cancer I'm at a much higher risk.

I also have hospital treatment (not chemo) this week but I'm going to ask for it to be cancelled. It's in the oncology ward so it's always very clean but it's not life saving treatment so hopefully they'll agree to patch it.

Huge jump in deaths in Italy puts their death toll at 7% of infected. SARS level stuff now.

Lack of ventilators a huge problem, and they apparently already have far more per head in Lombardy than in the UK.

Penny only seems to have dropped now with the UK Government that buying a few more ventilators may be a good idea - these orders should have been in weeks ago.

Slovenia banning public transport from midnight.

Your last bus is 11.30 pm, it takes 45 minutes to get home, you get turfed off after half an hour while the bus hightails to the depot.
