All party members completing track and trace info was already a thing up here last time we were allowed out.
There is, of course, no compulsion to give accurate details, which makes a mockery of the whole thing.

Exactly that was last summer with no mitigations. This is no more normal than fly in the air. It's becoming increasingly clear that like it or not a "new normal" is the best we can hope for despite shite talk about June seeing a return to "normality". Anyone thinking we are returning to anything approaching what we knew as normal by this summer is kidding themselves on. It's going to be utter shite with vaccine passports, track and trace, virtually no restriction free overseas travel and limits on crowds in all situations. Normal my arse. It really shouldn't be that way but it's becoming abundantly clear that is where we are heading.

Aye, getting off a rammed train and firing Joe Bloggs 07123456789 into a pointless track and trace form is a massive barrier to going out...

If domestic vaccine passports happen there is approximately f**k all chance that it would be a short term thing. Why would they go to all that trouble to have all that lovely data then stick it in the bin.

Because once they have the data, they can sell it?

They won't be long term.

Thanks Hannah. Honestly, I know I've never met you but I do know Ruggy pretty well from the 5s days and believe me when I say to you that both of you are never far from my mind when talking to my mum and dad about her condition as I see first hand the devastating impact it has on the body.

She's never been a tall woman - 5ft1 in her day. In the last 16 months though and without a single invasive procedure, she's shrunk to 4ft8 and she's literally withered. It's fucking devastating watching someone who 3 weeks before her diagnosis, was on a treadmill running 5k 3-4 days a week. Someone who actually only got 3 weeks into retirement before her diagnosis.

I take a lot of heart from reading of someone like you who has fought it so long and is continually finding ways of booting it's arse every time the cycle peaks upwards. My mum already told me that if she was 20 years younger and I was still a kid, she'd have done everything offered up in terms of treatment, she have tried to drag it down to its almost 'chronic' status but unfortunately she'd been taking unknown periodical viruses and infections for about 3/4 years prior to her diagnosis (which the oncologist mentioned was likely a result of the condition being there) and they only caught it when it was pretty far advanced.

I respect and empathise with what you're going through so much.

Make sure you don't leave anything unsaid.

I got my first jab of AZ last Saturday morning under this criteria.

I am more than happy to wait until going for a few pints is precisely what I’d recognise as “going for a few pints”.

I met up with a couple of mates in a pub last summer and it was nothing short of an utterly shite experience with masks and restrictions.

100% this,

My mate dropped it into the group chat that we should meet up when the pubs open and go for a meal and some pints but the ball ache of trying to organise a time and place booking tables in advance for a set time to sit outside for pints when it could be pishing down isn’t for me, can’t even have train cans on the way.

Thanks so much for this.

My mum is currently in hospital due to myeloma and now at stage of palliative care (she was really touch and go from Sunday through to last night). I know we're now at the days/weeks stage rather than months/years but me, my dad and my partner have been given approval to drop in and see her in her room in the ward as there is currently no guarantee she'll come home.

My dad is her primary carer but I've also been providing a bit over the last few days since she went downhill and wasn't aware of this. I've now registered and have been approved for my vaccine appointment to follow.

Sincerely, thanks for making me aware of this.

I have a lot of sympathy for your situation and hope the outcome for your family is better than the prognosis.  In no way am I aiming my next point at you.

when I saw the link about unpaid carers my immediate thought was it will be a free for all of people claiming to be caring for someone in order to jump the vaccine queue.  It seems like no verification of this status is taking place?  It leaves it open to abuse.

If I’m wrong and status as an unpaid carer is being verified then I apologise..

You fill in your full name and details etc and Docs surgery and who you care for Parents etc
This is then checked before you are accepted. Can't remember the full process but it isn't a free for all

Presumably Sridhar will be making a grovelling apology and announcing her resignation in the near future for undermining the vaccine program with her horseshit.

That's an unusual way to spell "will take a giant huff and block every fucker on Twitter who questions her risible authority"

I’m sure there are criteria but it’s verification I’m thinking about.  If I remember correctly you could register as a carer for an elderly neighbour.  Is anyone actually verifying that the neighbour or relative requires care or assistance?  If they are who is the determining agency.

it just seems a bit woolly.

I’m glad the fact that Sridhar is a Walter Mitty is now widely accepted on here. I’ve been saying it for about 9 months.

It's been widely alluded to tbf. But I don't think anyone expected her cataclysmic downfall to come as early as it did.

Leitch next, please.

There’s been absolutely none of it in our group chat as everyone was pretty much of the same feeling after last summer. Being escorted through the bar area then up the stairs with a mask on, right to your table where you must remain seated and re-mask when you go for a piss was a harrowing experience.

She’ll be back. The proverbial jobby that won’t flush.

Her sociopathic ego is too big for her just to disappear into oblivion quietly.

Tend to agree. Loves the limelight.

One of these folk that every time the fridge door opens she does a turn.

Harrowing? You're a delicate flower.

On another note, may I ask you learned folks if it's factual that those who have had COVID only need one dose of the vaccine?
