ftk
It wouldn't (have to) reduce their income, and it wouldn't increase their chances of getting relegated. There would be more relegation spots but also more spots overall. If you finish 10th you stay up: just like before.Yes but only 2 guaranteed old firm home games instead of 3.That's what Scottish football is all about after all......

St Mirren and Hamilton are currently 10th/11th, and then you add in Dundee United who are spending multiples of what they are, and a Hearts side allowed another transfer window.

That depends entirely on the fixture format they choose. The English Championship runs a 46 game season. Absolutely no reason why we couldn't have a one-off 6-8 split after 3 rounds and give the top 6 a 44 game season and the bottom 8 a 46, compensating for it by revamping the League Cup for 1 season so none of the top-flight sides have to play in the group stages (for example).

Either way they would be playing in a league with one of Dundee United and Hearts. So what you're really saying is that the one of them that would have definitely survived this season might not have definitely survived next season, because they weren't guaranteed to finish ahead of either Hearts or Dundee United. So unless you're saying that St Mirren or Hamilton are worried that they're not as good as Dundee United, Hearts and Inverness next season, they would be no worse off. They would still have been put in relegation troubles if just one of those clubs had done better than them. rb123!
Peak banter if this championship club waits 27 days until voting, just to vote against meaning it collapses.

jagsfan57
"St Mirren, in common with all other football people, would have always preferred to play the season to its proper conclusion."However, for the protection of both fans and players, football should take a break until after the summer and hopefully be able to start season 2020-21 as soon as possible, safely."As both the UK and Scottish Governments make clear daily, everybody must stay at home as much as possible, to protect the NHS and save lives. Putting increased pressure on clubs to end this season, and potentially start next season early, is not what society needs right now."This about sums it up for me... Except that St Mirren might have to play their games, therefore not staying at home, protecting the NHS or saving lives. And if it deemed safe enough for the premiership to play, it is safe enough for all to play.
