No-one is suggesting they kiss the badge. What is evident so far this season is they're moulding into a team. The new guys have brought best out of players already there. Burgh have some v good players ... they're not a team yet. Moff has bought wisely although injuries may play a part as squad isn't huge
GNU_Linux
Personally I think all players should be required to sit a test of how much PASHUN they can show before signing for a club.

energyzone
Hurlford were a bit unfortunate not to take anything from their match versus Troon today. They were the better team in the first half and some of the interchanges between their attacking players was very good but they couldn't find a route to goal. Somehow they found themselves 2-0 down at halftime to a breakaway Troon goal and then a complete mess of a corner. In the second half Troon were a lot more solid and Hurlford couldn't find a way to break them down. Troon gradually took control of the match and ended the stronger side. I don't think Hurlford did a lot wrong apart from several defensive errors, but both of these teams will finish in the bottom half and Hurlford would have really wanted to win this home match given there probably isn't too much between these squads.

Montys
Interesting if true as Beith fans on here always seem to the ones complaining about others spending. Anyone at the Drum/Talbot game today? how was the crowd in the sports centre? must be the biggest travelling support they have had.

Football is a great game. two people at the same venue, watching the same teams bits saw a very different game. Hurlford got what they deserved. Nothing. Troon were the better side and deserved the victory. Hurlford’s best player was the left back.

A good grass pitch is preferable yes. However - and despite £000s of investment on it each year - the old pitch was subject to postponements and quagmirey at most parts of the year and being brick hard at other parts. The surface we have now is so much better except to Maxi of course. What kind of crowd did Burgh have ? They seem to have picked up a following Never seen an entire fanbase so visibly rattled by a throwaway comment by an opposing manager in a game they won. The argument has been done to death - plastic obviously has the advantage of being able to get games on when otherwise it may not have been possible but it also plays far worse than grass on a normal day and you hear players talking about how much their joints struggle when playing on it. You don't all need to pretend it's perfect just because your team play on it. Edited August 25 by Dean Learner

They have built a couple of bus shelters, towed a burger van into place. Some of their supporters had a trumpet and a flag. Pity they were standing outside. If you don't get to the barriers your fecked for watching.
