Jim McLean's Ghost
Imagine if we hadn't bottled the Nations League and could have been laughing about drawing israel again.
Markka
Think they get lumped in as wannabe Icelands but it doesn't feel too justified. Other than against fellow minnows in Nations League Division D their recent results look worse than Moldova. They aren't the uber-diddies they used to be. Beat Greece home and away I think 5/6 years ago.
Stellaboz
If we don't beat Moldova, the Faroes and Israel all home and away, cheerio to 2nd place. Those fucking games are must wins, and we should be looking to beat Denmark and Austria at home given our good home form. Austria despite being 2nd seeds are probably the team to beat here.
Nizlopi
Really really hope, fans can travel to Austria away, Vienna is a brilliant city and a real possibility of scotland winning there

I recall us doing that and agreeing to playing in the sweltering heat in Macedonia one August afternoon Nah, they stopped the negotiating a few tournaments ago. All automated now. That was during Burley’s time in charge. I think Craig Brown was a good negotiator for the games. Generally playing in places like that in late autumn or spring.

Basically we've 2 away games that aren't gimmes but if you don't win you don't deserve to qualify or reach playoffs. Pish. If we are professional about it they should be straightforward wins. I'd argue that trembling like wee bitches lost us the games noted. Take Kazakhstan for example. There was a list of excuses repeated multiple times that clearly got in the player's heads and the team looked terrified and were roundly pumped. For the game in Macedonia there were tears for ages about the heat and the team put in a timid, shitebag performance. We were beat well before the games even began in most of those cases. The team was mentally weak and poor management allowed it to happen. If the team approach the games in a professional manner and go in with confidence, they should be straightforward victories. A bit of belief goes a long way. Or they could be scared of a pot 6 team and play like shitebags and deservedly get nothing, a sterling tactic that has seen us qualify for every tournament since France 98...

Historically we have a brilliant record against "Moldova, the Faroes and f*cking Israel" of course In all seriousness - it's a good draw if we take 16pts/18pts off those below. We assume of course that Denmark and Austria will take 18 points off those 3 teams, which is probable but not a certainty. It's why it is a good draw -Germany / Belgium / France / England would win all 6 matches easily but not sure if Denmark or Austria will do the same.

Three Euro group games plus a couple of friendlies and we’ll play 15 matches in 2021... Robertson and Marshal are going to end up on over 50 caps by the end of the year. Dykes will be on 20 or more. Have we ever had a better time to build a squad with real international experience? This must be why the Spanish and Germans have players on 120 to 170 caps
