realmadrid
It was not clear there , are they just making up the bracket or will there be an actual draw? If its made up you can guess which two B teams will be given home games all the way to a potential final.

Yeah, that seemed a little dodgy - surely it should just be North 1 v South 1, etc (or some variation) and it could be announced straight away.

HibeeJibee
Annan always get Celtic B... Dumbarton v Rangers B is 'landlord-v-tenant'... Edinburgh City v Hearts B might pique local interest. QP v Bonnyrigg plus potential Killie v Falkirk are interesting. Still intrigued to see how this "bracketed draw" from R3 will work... are they just picking who will play who; is it linked to today's draw; or are they doing a private draw? How is H/A decided?
Benidorm
Is it looking like the Old Firm B teams will potentially be playing the same night as their first teams in European games?

I can't imagine the SPFL clubs actually sanctioning what you are suggesting, if the Old Firm B teams actually make Round 3 which is by no means guaranteed.

We put Celtic Colts out on the same night the first team got papped out the CL by Cluj back in 2019.

I also can't agree with the OF B teams being included given they are now part of the Lowland League. That's on top of my general dislike for those teams being in the competition. That's actually a really good point. If Celtic and Rangers b want to be part of a league they shouldn't also get the benefit of entry to the cup when members of that league have to qualify
Blootoon87
Get the B teams horsed out in the first round folks.
Dunning1874
As they've now been welcomed into the pyramid by a horrible shower of scabs, are Celtic and Rangers B now governed by the same rules in the Challenge Cup as they are in the Lowland League in terms of who they can select? Or are they allowed to select more overage players, in line with the existing rules for B sides from the 19/20 competition? Regardless, get all the fuckers emptied in the first round please.
newcastle broon
Geography lesson for me here..... Is Kelty no North of Cowdenbeath yet they are in the South? Why are Hibs in North and Hearts Ed City South ??

Might be a similar thing for Hearts ending up South while Hibs when North. Since Hearts were a Championship side last year and so were Dundee, with Dundee clearly North, the more established Premiership 'B' team in Hibs went North over Hearts?

Why are Hibs in North and Hearts Ed City South ?? If you look at the seeds it seems to be 3x L1, 5x L2, and the HL or LL champions in each north/south section. So L2 from last season gets split with Elgin, Stirling, Stenny, Cowdenbeath and Brechin as the 5 northernmost clubs. Then in the unseeded section, the 12 Premiership B teams are split north/south and if list them north to south Hibs are the 6th northernmost club. If you don't do it this way, you will get an uneven number of L1, L2, HL/LL and B teams in each section.

craigkillie
The left-hand side is definitely the harder part of the draw there - it has 5 of the 6 "best" Championship clubs as measured by the bookies' odds, and also has all three of the full-time League 1 clubs.

craigkillie
They did a draw, which was put out on the SPFL Trust Twitter account - it was prerecorded rather than live. Each of the 16 ties from the previous round was numbered and the teams were placed into the bracket in the order drawn.
true_rover
Have they explained how teams were 'placed'?Looks like a random draw - would have been better to tag that on to the initial draw rather than tweet a video the following day after the draw came out.
