Would crocs be acceptable for a specific, very practical reason?

A reason that wouldn't see the offending items being described as everyday comfortable footwear.

Asking for a friend

Is the practical reason that you are appearing in a police lineup?

Not my fault the criminal wore crocs and we all had to dress the same

Easier to clean the blood from plastic crocs than leather sandals

I remember having to wear these to the paddling pool when I was a kid in the 70s, mainly because the pool was full of broken bottles. In fact I have a scar on my ankle from standing on a broken bottle whilst running over the grass in the same park.

Now if you want to talk about pointlessly uncomfortable clothing, you can get a better example than a suit and tie.

Utterly ridiculous set of clothes to wear.

WTF is a tie supposed to be for anyway other than a choking hazard?

And those shoes look like they require 3 months and 4 new heel skins to wear in.

Give me pyjamas and open toe sandals any day.

A tie is a descendant of the cravatte, worn by Croat soldiers (Croatian for Croatia is Hvratska so a wee leap gives you cravatte). Made of silk IIRC it was designed to deflect sword blows to the throat and was copied by the French.

You should just be glad shirts come with attached collars. All that messing about with collarstuds and starch sounds a pain in the neck

Flip flips and sliders are all I wear for about 9 months of the year. I fucking hate socks they make me feel like my feet are on fire.

These originals are my latest acquisition.

Mods please.

Quite apart from the gratuitous feet pic, the use of the word 'Sliders' should merit a life ban.

It's flip flops.
