So if Zelensky armed school kids and sent them to the front line, it would be Putin's fault?

Why are you creating hypothetical scenarios to criticise someone who's nation is on the verge of being wiped off the map?

It's just weird. He's asked 18-60yo men to stay and fight, that's it. I suspect every country would do that if a world war broke out.

I found that strange too, folk going about their business, meandering through the square.

@baldandbankrupt on Instagram (he makes YouTube videos) was there about an hour ago. There are problems supposedly in the north of Kiev but nothing happening in the centre and he hasn’t seen or heard anything. Looks quite eerie and quiet but just a normal day.

I don't think it's a request.

It's quite mad how he became President.

He was a comedian starring in a TV show about being a History teacher that has a video go viral after a pupil films him going on a sweary rant about government corruption on the Internet which leads to him becoming President.

He then signed up for the upcoming Ukraine election in response to the TV show as a bit of a laugh in 2019 and then ended up getting 70% of the vote.

Mental.

Imagine if that happened to us and Ricky Gervais or Jimmy Carr was elected as Prime Minister.

They'd have to be elected the leader of the political party that wins the general election - we don't "elect" prime ministers.

This AlbionSaint fella needs their own thread. Should be hugely entertaining to discover their views on a wide variety of sociopolitical subjects.

The very definition of a "look at me" poster

Sean Penn's in there filming a documentary too

I now forsee something almost straight from the mouth of 'his' puppet in Team America:

Last year I went to Ukraine. Before the Russians showed up, it was a happy place. They had flowering meadows and rainbow skies, and rivers made of chocolate, where the children danced and laughed and played with gumdrop smiles.

So if Zelensky armed school kids and sent them to the front line, it would be Putin's fault? Zelensky has an obligation to protect his vulnerable citizens. He should be telling them to take shelter and stay off the streets - that's what I would do if I was him. As a leader you can ask the people to come out onto the streets and fight, but that instruction comes with consequences, and it means more civilian deaths.
Zelensky could have taken actions to prevent this war. Rightly or wrongly, he chose the course of action he did - but he should be trying his best to limit civilian casualties. I don't see this as a contentious point.

Not sure you quite grasp the concept of war !

It’s really telling that you’re full of condemnation for Zelensky causing casualties in this situation but absolutely not a bad word to say about the man who’s driving the invasion and shelling of civilian targets in another country.

Old Firmesque levels of beams and motes from him, again
