Does anyone think anything will actually happen to Man City?

No. They'll be hit with a massive fine in about three years and they'll change their stance on wanting an independent regulatory body and all will be forgiven.

It's possible that Man City will end up in that sweetspot of being big enough for the case to be high profile, but not actually well-supported or popular enough for anyone to actually worry about the consequences of them being punished.

Unlike the Rangers scenario, or even the Juventus one, I'm not sure the profile of the Premier League would actually be substantially affected if Man City literally just disappeared off the face of the earth tomorrow. In the other two cases there were wider consequences to the game as a whole which (rightly or wrongly) were taken into consideration, but does that really apply here? The Premier League might actually have more to lose by not punishing them properly if found guilty. The same was probably true of UEFA, but they were hamstrung by having statutes of limitation in their rules and thus having to rush through the investigation.

Yeah this is a pretty good point. They're monumentally rich of course, but they're not, and never will be as big a club as the likes of Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal etc. If they are punted down the leagues they could be in for a long term return to mediocrity. Not a single one of that first team squad is going to want to hang out in the lower tiers of English football, and their backers may well pull out and invest elsewhere. If they are properly punished they may well never recover, which would be pretty funny.

There's West Ham's lick. 1-1.

No idea why it isn't pulled back by VAR for the coul on Cucurella, tbh.

No foul; he's just garbage.

Terrific defending from England's rose at the back post too.
