Right then, head's still buzzing a bit from last night but here we go regardless.

The lower your final points total is, the more accurate your placings of each specific team has been and the more accurate your league prediction is. The scores vary high and low for this one, probably owing to just how tight and chaotic this league has been. After going through them all this is how I would categorise the quality of prediction:

Under 16 = Brilliant effort, likely need more than half the teams predicted exactly right for that.

16 to 20 = A very good prediction that is worth a little smugness.

22 to 26 = Bang average, which in this crazy league is still a decent effort.

28 and above = Well... at least you tried!

It's funny to think how different this could have looked if some slight things had went different yesterday, no doubt most of you will be cursing Mark McKenzie for sending Ayr from 5th to 2nd with mere minutes to go, otherwise a lot of predictions might well have scored lower! Indeed, Ayr proved the biggest hurdle for more low scores, but the sheer chaotic nature of this season had its effects on every team, including an Arbroath whom many thought would keep some of their last season form or people betting rightly or wrongly on which one of Cove or QP would kick on and which would struggle. And yet, this sheer unpredictability has led to some wildly different scores, both higher and lower than I think I've seen while doing this.

Best Predictions:

Last season's Championship predictor was won by @R&Y99 with a relatively high 16 points, though last season's predictions were wildly affected by Dunfermline and Arbroath basically swapping roles and causing most to have higher scores. This time though, we got some properly impressive scores, none more so than from Ayr fans whose natural instinct to have their side higher up. The one to have the most success was @Death in Vegas, who along with placing Ayr in the top 4 also predicted the continued rise of Queen's Park and almost entirely nailed the bottom half aside from Caley Thistle, and scored an excellent 8 points, which has to be the lowest score I've seen while doing these.

2nd and 3rd also impressed me greatly, with another Honest Man in @ecocme managing a very good 10 points, and if he'd had more confidence in his side it'd be even lower. In the bronze is my fellow Dee @Lalo who'd joined less than a month before but came in with a 12 points prediction. As is also the same with other good scores, Caley Thistle's sudden drop to 6th stopped these scores from getting even lower. Fair play to @Zanetti and @QoS99 as well, who both managed to equal last year's winner with 16 points.

Worst Predictions:

Last season's worst predictions was a shared title, with 4 separate posters managing 34 points in a season that seemed to be ripe for ruining scores. Not much changed for this season, and we have 3 posters sharing that same ignominious number. @Alert Mongoose went in for a Northern double in Caley and Cove to top the league, @micaley68 too had a Caley title win in sights built up his score with a wildly different mid-table, and @cdhafc1874 came in right at the very end with an Ayr-Morton bottom two finish which brought his score right up. We also had 6 separate posters with 32 points.

Happy with an average 24 points. Normally hopeless at these kind of things so delighted to see so many with worse scores than me.

Massively overestimated Arbroath and underestimated Ayr and QP but bang on with Cove and Accies, not too bad with the rest.

Didn't think Arbroath would crash as badly as they did. Got Cove and Hamilton pretty much spot on.

If anyone had said Ayr were finishing 2nd at the start of the season I'd have laughed myself silly.

So, a little data. Using the era of the 3 points for a win, so starting with the 94-95 season, and correcting 19-20/20-21 for 36 games (30 seasons):

-63 Points for first is the lowest total ever for first

-58 for second is the fourth lowest total for second, the lower being 55 in 11-12 and 08-09 plus 56 in 01-02

-31 for tenth is only tied for eleventh lowest

-32 points from first to tenth is tied for fourth closest to 26 in 08-09, 29 in 06-07, 31 in 01-02 and another 32 in 09-10

-A weird point is 17 points between fourth and eighth is the fourteenth smallest, the leader being three points in 08-09 (which featured four teams on 47 points...Queen of the South, Morton, Livi and Ross County...in fifth through eighth)
