The Official Liz Truss no longer PM but still a Clusterfuck thread

Clown Job

Even though he’s a disgusting human being, BoJo again would be the best bet from an independence standpoint. Loads of Tories down south love him so they would cling on to power until they have to have a GE. Enough people, especially here, loathe him and would be disgusted by the fact he’s be back.

On another note, the woman I’m working for just said “oh I see the PM has resigned, I didn’t really know anything about her, don’t think I even heard her speak” WTF do you live in a fecking wheelie bin?!?!?

There is apparently some arcane instrument that King Charlie can invoke, but I am not sure

Constitutional theorists have had differing views as to whether a unilateral dissolution of Parliament would be possible today; Sir Ivor Jennings wrote that a dissolution involves "the acquiescence of ministers", and as such the monarch could not dissolve Parliament without ministerial consent.

I came up with that answer all by myself. :whistle

They are ungovernable no matter who takes over tbh.

Sunak had the most support amongst MPs last time, but a lot of them were out painting him as some sort of lurid lefty for the Covid spending that they all demanded at the time.

Ben Wallace seems largely unscathed, maybe it'll be him.

Sunak wouldn't want it, surely.

The next one is a caretaker to prevent wipeout. Not to win an election.

There will be a huge push from the ERG and right for Braverman. She has clearly been primed to "resign" yesterday with today's emptying of Truss in mind. It will take a pretty concerted effort to stop them hence why the membership are being shafted as the right know Braverman would not command their support. I will be very surprised if it's not Cruella and that should give everyone of every political persuasion the absolute fear.
