Confident talk of Boris reaching 100 which would give the membership a good chance of putting him back in.

Absolute bonkers that the Tories are backing more chaos.

Although I do think if Johnson is put back into power, he will instantly take a big chunk out of the Labour lead and pull back some of the flag shaggers and "Boris got it done" crew.

The problem they have (and that we all have) is that there will be "chaos" irrespective of who becomes the next leader.

Sunak will simply not be accepted by the ERG and he's made many enemies outwith them as has Mordaunt who lacks the experience or influence to pull the many different sects together. Hunt as chancellor is already a step too far for many of them.

The return of BJ goes beyond ridiculous and surely can't be taken seriously.

Ultimately the ONLY option is to call a GE, however self preservation is preventing them doing what is the only answer for the sake of the country. As such, every single one of them is culpable in this utter shambles which is only serving to destroy the Economy more and more by each passing day.

We simply can't go on with this mob of jokers at the helm.....

Unfortunately, they are completely serious. The reality is how many votes/much support would bringing him back cost them, the answer is none…for now. The shining light in this Mongolian Clusterfuck, this Circle Jerk of Monkeys, this political version of Two Girls, One Cup (Two Wings, One Party?) is that BoJo, Part Deux, is very likely to be somewhat akin to the end scene of Men in Black. The Conservatives will ingest BoJo, who will then pull some spectacular, and self-serving, stunt that will literally destroy the Party from within…just remember, that even after that, they won’t be completely dead though.

Hasn’t it become a trope that Tory males crave being dominated and abused by matronly older women who remind them of their stern but domineering nannies?

Hey sir! that doesn't necessarily make one a tory nor a bad person. just saying. for no reason of course

This is a fucking joke if Boris gets back in.

That's what's going to happen.

Of course that is what is going to happen.

The mad Tories are still in power. Truss was continuity Boris. Elected by the exact same group that supported Johnson and they haven't gone away. They still hold enough MPs to get him on the ballot and they dominate the Membership. A donkey like Truss just thrashed Sunak after a long leadership contest which completely exposed her.

I thought there might be some consensus manager candidate to see them to the next election in hopes of not being wiped out but Boris being willing to go back in is the right of the party's option to keep control. Obviously they are going to take it.

They have elected two absolutely honking prime ministers in a row. Whatever little credibility they had has been eroded away by their incompetence and corruption. A general election is a must IMO.

Imagine letting the same crackpots who chose Liz Truss choose the next Prime Minister.

If you were watching films with someone and they picked two films in a row that turned out to be the worst you had ever seen, would you let them pick again?

No, of course you wouldn't. Then why would anyone want to let the same people who picked Boris Johnson and Liz Truss pick a PM again?

Why would the Tories call an election when they know they are going to lose.

John Major clung on to every day he had in power despite having a completely non functioning govt. If Boris comes back it is going to be even worse because the Tories can't topple him. Everyone can cry about a GE but it isn't going to happen.

Public pressure should be applied.

I take issue with you labelling the last two Prime Ministers 'absolutely honking'.

The last three Prime Ministers have been 'absolutely honking'.

I disagree.

May was completely incapable of resolving Brexit at a time where there was scope in the HoC to get any number of various Brexit approaches approved, but her stupidity, lack of vision, and idiotic decision to go pell-mell for the harshest Brexit conceivable ultimately cost her her job. If she had any nous whatsoever, she could have got the UK out of the EU with a functional deal, seen off Corbyn years ago, and still be sitting with her feet up in Downing street cigaring the PM's job yet.

She was a colossal fool whose personal ambition far outstripped her ability. Cameron at least had the sense to accept that a 'Remain' backing PM couldn't stay in post after the humiliation of a losing campaign, whereas May grabbed the poisoned chalice with both hands. More fool her, she deserved everything her idiot arse got.
