That’s good to hear, are they also sharp proof, if so to what force? Can’t imagine a petrol bomb going off is not going to result in a few sharp bits of glass spraying around.

Also, just cos the suits are fireproof doesn’t mean heat doesn’t go through, there’s been f1 drivers stating if a car catching fire even in their suits it’s hot as f**k.

Either way it takes a bit of bottle to hold your line their

They have some kevlar pads yes, but mind that bit in the Christian bale batman films where Alfred’s showing him the weakpoints, kinda similar actually.

Think I'd want a full blown Adamantium /Vibranium suit of armour.

Ah Kevlar, great when new, but if your wanting to keep it long term your wash, dry and storage better be spot on

Some residents were standing watching the riot with their kids, filming it. I remember reading about this last year, who knows what goes through some peoples minds.

Ban fireworks and the likes. Completely.

I think the sale of fireworks was banned in Dundee this year. Apparently the 'riots' in Kirkton were some protest each year on the anniversary of the death of some guy or something. @Derry Alli probably knows more about it.

That’s the slight advantage to U.S. riots…no one’s standing by, with their kids, filming because the next thing through their mind could be a bullet.

For those wondering, here’s a nice look at a Molotov on a wall in slo-mo…

And here’s some Molotov training…I’d expect injuries and changes to this drill if the glass is a significant threat…

What difference would that make: do you think they bought their fireworks... plus bricks, flashbangs and molotov cocktails... and bought legally in local hardware shops or convenience stores?!

Part of a wider argument to be fair, not this riot specific.

But for years I've thought 5th November needs binned. Just go from the 4th straight to the 6th in the UK.

Imagine if the 5th fell at a weekend though and we lost a day? There'd be riots.

The public order outfits are fireproof, they do confidence testing of the equipment at the training for it.

Even so must be deafening to have a firework go off at your feet.

Oh aye, i mean ive had it alot without the public order helmet on, every year Pollokshields goes nuts on bonfire night, one year you genuinely couldnt get out the motor, but there the fireworks are getting pelted at the police from high performance sports cars or being dropped off by them, so you’ve no chance of catching up. Told Drumchapel was similar to Niddrie and Dundee this year but didnt get much media coverage.

Depends how tall you are

Short ones hear more but tall ones have more to aim at.

Aye, that's exactly why it happened. The police tried to break it up and the natives got restless.

200 years from now he'll be infamous and his story will be embellished somewhat.

A police officer in Edinburgh said that while most of the rioters were children, the trouble was orchestrated by older people.

Who the f**k are these older people?  This was just kids attacking the police for the sheer f**k of it - it's not a protest about anything, I can't see any tangible benefit to anyone from doing it, it's not organised criminal activity, no-one seems to be profiting from it.  Why are they doing it?
