Kempes
Sorry to hear this news. Saw Frank turning in some fantastic performances for the Saints, Celtic and Clyde. He was still different class when he joined Clyde and took them to a League title in 1993. Also seemed a real decent, genuine guy. Thoughts with his family and friends.

He was fantastic in his spell with us before he left for Liverpool. He did a turn for us when he came back in the mid eighties too. Sad news.
djchapsticks
A legend at both St. Mirren and Celtic. He was my old man's favourite player. RIP. A real shame we couldn't have had him down at the ground in front of Saints fans one more time.

DumbartonBud
His winning goal in the ‘87 cup semi set up one of the best days in the history of our club. Was one of our best players over two spells where the team had a number of outstanding players. RIP Frank and thanks for the memories.

Hendo
Sad to hear this, one of my favourite Saints players - only really saw him play for us when he came back in the 80's, his goal against Hearts in the Cup semi a real highlight. RIP Frank and thanks for the memories.

Ned Nederlander
Aye, good well respected player I don't know what he did to merit it but I did once try and put him down at Brockville but shouted something about Frank McAvennie in the excitement - he looked very confused. RIP.

Molotov
His debut as a Liverpool “player” just after he had left St Mirren in 1979. His goals against Slavia Prague in Europe capped a brilliant night at Love St: RIP Frank The most natural goal scorer I’ve ever seen consistently in a Saints jersey. St Mirren would not have got to the final or won the ‘87 Scottish cup without his experience. Edited January 1, 2023 by Molotov
