Trogdor
Robertson or Swinney to be convinced to the change their minds and stand for the leadership? A fucking safe pair of hands is better than this lot. It takes some going for three people to be standing and Humza seeming like the most reasonable. f**k me what a mess!

welshbairn
Finding a way of swerving around answering gotcha yes or no questions that require nuance and time not available in an interview format should be the first thing any politician learns. She wouldn't last 5 minutes in FMQs, far less an Andrew Neil interview, on topics that she'd have had a lot less time to prepare for. Guest
In South USA, in the era often called neo-slavery, following abolition, many Black men were effectively re-enslaved via hard labour punishments for bizarre "crimes". One of those crimes was b*****dry. The Black father, if unmarried to the mother, would be prosecuted for b*****dry. That was on a different continent and in a different century. Yet we know who from Scotland settled USA and the religious doctrines they held. They were Forbes' ideological antecedents. So given that historically, these beliefs were used in service of oppression, its not unreasonable for eyebrows to have been raised today. That's probably all it was due, though, merely a raised eyebrow. I agree it's not a concern and is unworthy of focus.
Billy Jean King
Sounds to me that Krazy Kate will be (taken possibly) out the race almost before it's begun. Will she see out the next 24hrs as a candidate ???

I thought because Forbes is quite right-leaning on economics. Very New Labour, never shut up about business. That rhetoric would stop SNP being labelled as "socialist", which Sturgeon probably wanted to avoid because no independence vote must be left behind, including right wing ones*. Edit: *That's my guess on how SNP leadership think rather than how I think. Edited February 21, 2023 by FreedomFarter

ScotiaNostra
Robertson wont join the race, it would be a huge slap in the face for Yousaf if he did and a bit strange after saying the reason he didnt want it was due to family Edited February 21, 2023 by ScotiaNostra

Leaving her faith and backwards views at the door, she demonstrated that she's wholly unfit for the position by getting sucked into a hypothetical question, from a relatively toothless journalist, about an issue that was relevant before she was even an MSP, and managed to spectacularly own herself by giving an answer which is both contrary to her own party's policy, and public opinion in general. It was a very simple tap-in for her to skate around the question and get the point across that her mind is on furthering the party aims and commitments, but she somehow managed to boot the ball up the other end of the park into her own net. I honestly think that Liz Truss would have handled that better if she was in the same position, and she's a congenital moron.
Empty It
To think a few people were condemning people saying they wouldn't vote SNP if Forbes became FM because she could keep her religion separate from her politics. How has that worked out then?
