VictorOnopko
I'm seeing a sharp decline in the number of Mortonites referring to "Sir Douglas" atm. Maybe it's the chinos? Also, do Morton have a decent reserve keeper to call on now that Imrie has thrown the current young lad under the bus? Meanwhile, what a (double?) save from Gaston to keep the penalty out.
lichtie23
Michael McKenna is one of my favourite players to wear maroon…..but how the f**k have match sponsors given him the man of the match? Making a mockery of the game
Dunning1874
Players often get scapegoated after a penalty miss and it can happen to any player, although the absolute c**t he made of the rebound can't. Think it's important to note that no one is hanging out Crawford to dry on the basis of one penalty miss though, he's being hung out to dry on the basis of being totally useless for 90 minutes. There's no way he should still have been on the park at the time when our best player on the night was subbed and a better player than him was sat on the bench all night. It's actually incredible we dominated that the way we did with him and Blues playing so badly and Gillespie not being great either. The amount of ground Robbie Crawford was covering and the creativity Muirhead was offering was very impressive when they were also dragging a liability around with them. It was like the days of watching Tony Wallace trying to keep up with the standards of Tidser, Bachirou and Hardie, a player simply miles off the standard of his teammates.
NewarkTon
Should have been 2 or 3 ahead before the Arbroath goal and the penalty miss. No problem with Imrie saying, that Shwake "has to be switched on and his concentration levels have to be high". Personally, I would not have added, "That's not the first time this season, he's cost us points ".
GiGi
It's not the first time his pal Ali Crawford cost us points either and he's only been here for a month. Didn't hear that from Imrie.

Harsh. It wasn't the best-taken penalty I've ever seen, a bit too close to the keeper, but Gaston guessed right and made a decent save. Crawford did well to get forward seven or eight yards so fast and get a decent enough header on target, but for Gaston to first dive to his right and then recover so quickly to make the save to his left was just excellent goalkeeping. In this league Crawford's header would've been in far more often than not.
The Ghost of B A R P
It was a brilliant save from Gaston for the rebound… but he should have been given no chance at all. Crawford just has to nod it to the right-hand side of the goal and it’s in. Not buying the idea that he was poor all game, but he’s got that horrible look of a ‘nearly’ player: you can see the ability in flashes, but there’s no conviction in the decisive moments. Hope it comes, because it looks as though he’ll be starting whenever fit… Will be interesting to see who comes out when Quitongo’s back: if it isn’t either Blues (for 4-2-3-1) or A. Crawford (for 4-3-3), you’d be concerned. Looking on the bright side, if we can play with that purpose and commitment every week, we won’t be far away… and nobody will fancy meeting us in a play-off.
SotesBornalichtie
Why the f**k was Olusanya ever on the pitch, he should never have started if Ardakwa was match fit. Cannot figure out what the manager sees in him. Dreadful first half performance, Morton totally dominant. Don't know if we were lucky or Morton's finishing was so bad that we were only 1 down at half time. We improved in the second half but not enough to win the game. There could have been no complaints if Morton had won. We dug in and got a break when their keeper fumbled the ball and Ardakwa was there to put it in the net. The ref tried to give Morton the win but big Derek didn't let them and was mom for me.
SandyCromarty
How about that Gaston? he should be called Pishton as that's what he did to Morton's play off hopes last night. -
redscot
Yet again arbroath playing against a good team assisted by a very poor referee, justice prevailed in the end with an excellent penalty save and clearance, followed by a very dodgy free kick decision on edge of box,in extra time time, hitting the wall and cleared.

36-0 Maroon
Absolutely sensational we managed to get a point out of that last night as we were absolutely awful ️ Quite worrying in a must win game at HOME we turn in a performance like that, Morton must be sick as anything as they will never know why they have lost the 3 points. AFC didn’t deserve anything, Only Gaston & TOB get pass marks and upon reflection a point gained and deserved only for them 2 alone and that stunning piece of goalkeeping and defending at the penalty

I admire your constant optimism but surely even you must recognise how terrible we are, particularly at home.

Anotherlichtie
Surprised that nobody has mentioned how poor Banks was for the goal. Let Oakley go unmarked/unchallenged for the easiest of headers. Point is thanks to Derek Gaston and he is the reason we don’t sit bottom of the pile today.

Yeah. Ref was pretty rubbish, just the standard incompetence really, nothing biased towards either team. I do think he gave a few soft fouls for Morton players going down very easily but I’m sure Morton fans could say the same. When things are going against you then it’s easy to start thinking there’s some kind of conspiracy. We are where we are because we’re atrocious. Yes a few decision have gone against us this season but that’s not the reason we’re down at the bottom of the league.
