There's no West of Scotland FA, just SFA West Region.

That does appear to be an anomaly though ...

There is - but it must be a historic thing with the secretary being the Ayr United general manager.

I can't find any contact details for the North of Scotland Football Association on the web, only the SFA North Region which covers Aberdeenshire as well. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Maybe try North Caledonian FA instead? Not 100% sure on what the official name would be these days.

So Queens Park now saying that they are not going for a B Team, that leaves 3. Have Hearts signed up to this or have their own supporters managed to have any influence on Budge?

Hearts seem to get off awful lightly in comparison to the OF

Guess there had to be Regional FAs on the go to run the Lanarkshire, Ayrshire, and Renfrewshire Cup competitions when they were active (not 100% sure on the status of those these days). Maybe these FAs merged at some point?

I agree. The FOH have also been very quiet.

I am a Hearts shareholder and have let the Board know of my views on the matter.

FOH will not get involved as, unusually for a "fan owned" club, they have decided not to get involved in any aspect of running the club.  Their relationship with the club was initially meant to be at "arms length" with regard to day to day operations of the club. That morphed into a "hands off" approach to anything the club does.  Any decision taken will be that of the club's board.  It's a bizarre relationship where the majority shareholder and parent company declines to exert any control over its "child" or subsidiary.

Indeed the Club's annual accounts stated:

Foundation of Hearts Limited is the immediate parent entity. The directors are of the opinion that there is no ultimate controlling party because, in substance, Foundation of Hearts Limited does not have control to govern the financial and operational policies of the club.

The corresponding entry for the FOH accounts stated:

The directors are of the opinion that Foundation of Hearts Limited is not the ultimate controlling party of Heart of Midlothian plc because, in substance, Foundation of Hearts Limited does not have control to govern the financial and operational policies of Heart of Midlothian plc.

North of Scotland FA and North Caledonian FA are different entities.

There used to be really obscure arguments on here as to whether the North Caledonian League was actually a senior league on that basis. Thought that might have been rationalised a bit, but the SFA handbook link posted above makes it clear that it hasn't been. Too bad the North Caledonian FA don't have a vote because I suspect they would have been a NO if they did.

Brora appear to have thought Club 42 would be automatically relegated:

"Another thing we were disappointed with was that there was no word of Team 42 being automatically relegated. That would have been another reason to vote for it.

also not impressed that the money paid by the Colt teams was going to drop from what was in the initial proposal and a lack of access to the League Cup for Conference clubs.

"At one stage there was talk of six colts sides paying in £100,000 per annum that would be divided between the non-colt teams. If you're in a league to 10, and there's £600,000, that is maths that will attract teams.

"The only colts teams who have said they are for it are Celtic, Rangers and Hearts though, and that's obviously a factor.

"The original proposition was that all the teams in the Conference League would play in the League Cup.

North of Scotland FA organise the North of Scotland Cup and the U21 league. They presumably still also organise the Inverness Cup, but that's not been contested for years. The North Caledonian FA organise the NCL and associated competitions. Interestingly, since you mention the arguments around senior status, the North Caledonian FA was originally called the North of Scotland Junior FA - although junior didn't refer to the SJFA, just that it was the junior association to the North of Scotland FA. It only became the North Caley FA in the 1980s (after becoming the North of Scotland 2nd XI FA post war).

Looks like it's just the North of Scotland Cup now with no sign of the u20 league getting back up and running. It's a shame more of an effort isn't made in getting North Caley sides to take part in the North Cup, probably by starting it later, it's a bit boring as it stands. Maybe the time could be found by holding the Highland League Cup in May like the Lowland League did with theirs this season, it would be nice to have some football to watch past April.
