TheScarf
He’s taken them as far as he can to be fair. 2 titles as a players then 2 as a manager is a decent return imo.

tazz1903
Why we're Brechin City not allowed to replace Buckie Thistle in the play off position? -

Zen , Scottish football seems to have no rules that anyone can understand At all levels of the pyramid, only the league champions can participate in promotion playoffs. If the champion is ineligible for promotion the game/playoff is scrapped (The Highland League and 3 feeder league play off this season for example, so Strathspey are safe from relegation) or any other eligible clubs (EK in this instance) receive a bye to the next round.
TheScarf
If Brechin want to get promoted they have to win the league, it’s as simple as that.

We know, and this keeps going round and round in circles. I think the question being posed by various posters is why should it only be the champions that are eligible if the champions can't go up as a result of licensing or whatever other reason.

Can't wait for a B team to win the Lowland League, the amount of heads shooting straight into the atmosphere on the forum will be tremendous. There's only one promotion spot available for SPFL2 and x2 champions There's only one promotion spot available for HL and LL and they each have x3 champions People tend to agree that a champion should be promoted automatically without having to navigate a play-off. Certainly most leagues with multiple divisions understand that. So if one gets ruled out, why give another champion thats been compliant all the way another hurdle.
welshbairn
You only have to look back to 2017 to see how embarrassing it can be when a lowly placed team gets unexpectedly promoted.
