Good start to the season from Bellshill on Saturday running out 4-1 winners away to Greenock good to see all 3 strikers getting on the scoresheet first game of the season and good to see so many fans travelling down to cheer the team on 🟡⚫🟡⚫

Where do Bellshill play their home games these days?

Very poor 2nd half performance by Lanark saw us concede a further 3 goals after a tight first half. Up to 40th minute neither team looked like scoring but we conceded a sloppy goal from a corner. Losing 2 CB's to injury didn't help.  Didn't think our opponents were any better that Ardeer, with whom we drew at the weekend but we performed poorly, despite the return of 2 first choice defenders.

The infamous Glasgow Utd forward was an unused sub.

Girvan 4 -0 Irvine Vics

What a shambles last night.  Thought we would have utilised the squad last night and sent with a different forward line on Girvan 's big park , but didn't happen.Could fill a page with what we watched however as it's only second game of season so  will cut them a bit of slack. Both players and management need to address it quickly.

Well done Girvan, who thoroughly deserved the win and could've scored more. Special mention to a couple of ex Vics boys, Paul Cameron and big Cunny, who were dominant throughout.

Vale of Leven 3-1 Finnart.

Great to get the first points of the season on the board. Finnart totally lost their heads and finished with 8 men, with another man sent off after the final whistle and their manager also dismissed.

Tbh the behaviour of the Finnart players was a complete riddy.  The vegetarian full back should learn to keep his mooth shut 🤣

Lesmahagow 1 Dalry Thistle 1

Gow scored in three minutes, looked comfortable first half.

Dalry pushed on in second half but never looked like scoring until ball hit off defenders balancing arm at corner, penalty to Dalry, scored from that.

Dalry keeper kept them in it, Gow should have got another two or three.

Later video evidence shows the Gow having a goal ruled offside, when two Dalry players are playing every Gow attacker onside, and the ref was standing in line with it.

Frustrating match.

Lanark 1 Girvan 1

Much better performance today despite 3 of our experienced players being injured following Wednesday's match.

Lanark went 1 up on 40 mins from a corner, had a 2nd (wrongly) ruled out for offside. Girvan also had a goal ruled offside after that - far end so couldn't tell if correct decision before they equalised on 78 mins through a well taken penalty following a barge by one of our young lads, who'd just come on.

Looking forward to the return of Chucky Watt to take the pressure off John Cunningham up front.

Game played in a good spirit.

I watched Threave vs Ardeer today.

Threave were the better team by a distance but didn't have too many clearcut chances. It took until about midway in the second half before Threave got their goal and I thought they'd kick on from there.

Credit to Ardeer though. They kept going and got back into it with an equaliser 5 minutes before the end. Unbelievably they then got a second a couple of minutes later. It looked like a smash and grab was on the cards before Threave drew level in injury time.

Threave should have had a penalty in the 2nd half too, no idea how the referee could wave away the appeals after the goalkeeper had clearly wiped out the striker.

Liam Park was the standout for Threave in my opinion. Plenty of room down the right for him and when the Thistle players could get near him then he showed a good bit of trickery to go with his pace.

Lewis Sloan also played well in a much deeper role than I've seen him play previously, less running for the old legs I guess, and he was pinging some lovely balls about.

None of those show the point of the ball being struck and even on the additional angle on Facebook you haven't shared there's not much disagreement from the gow players suggesting they think it was off

There have been comments from the team to the contrary.

I was at other end of the pitch, so I didn't see it but onlookers closer to it, backed up.

When add, no 5s ludicrous shouts for offside, etc in the first half. The ref has got a job on his hands.

At end of the day, we should've just scored another but we didn't. I am impressed with the improvement in Dalry from last season, they look a competent outfit
