Did any team actually do that? 24 games in 8 weeks seems a lot.

Or is it really a bit over exaggerated to try to justify your point?

Kennie, I know you take flak on here and generally undeserved but you have to admit what happened with Talbot at the end of the season was awful. However, sure you'll have learnt from that and we won't have the same scenario.

From 29th March till 13th May Talbot played 18 games...

And yet were sitting idle when teams that had played 5 and 6 games more were playing.

More exaggeration, I believe, I have it at 17 games during that period. (If I've missed one, I apologise). But at no time during that period were Talbot idle on a Saturday, and only 3 times were they playing 2 midweek games. Not every week as some would have you believe.

Wed 29/03 – Talbot 1 Clydebank 2, League

Sat 01/04 – Caley Braves 2 Talbot 1, SRCC

Mon 03/04 – Talbot 3 Buffs 1, League

Sat 08/04 – Talbot 1 (3) Buffs 1(2) West Cup Semi

Mon 10/04 – Talbot 1 Beith 2, League

Wed 12/04 – Talbot 1 Troon 1, League

Sat 15/04 – Clydebank 2 Talbot 1, League

Mon 17/04 – Talbot 4 Cumnock 0, League

Wed 19/04 – Arthurlie 0 Talbot 3, League

Sat 22/04 – Talbot 2 Arthurlie 0, League

Tues 25/04 – Largs 1 Talbot 0, League

Fri 28/04 – Talbot 2 Clydebank 0 West Final

Mon 01/05 – Glens 3 Talbot 1, League

Wed 03/05 – Beith 1 Talbot 2, League

Sat 06/05 – Meadow 1 Talbot 3, League

Wed 10/05 – Hurlford 0 Talbot 2, League

Sat 13/05 – Darvel 2 Talbot 2, League

It's never going to be plain sailing for everyone, it happens through various circumstances and as much as I'd like to avoid it, sometimes you just can't. But you are correct, lessons have been learnt, by me and by the clubs. We can only hope that we can improve as we move forward.

There were various midweeks when Talbot were idle and teams that had played 5 and 6 games more were playing.

But im sure you knew that

'Various midweeks', you say, yet you can't provide an example.

Kennie,

Any reason why you or the Official WoSFL have promoted the SJC and the SRCC very differently on twitter?

22nd Feb - Darvel v Hurlford & Troon v Pollok. - I wanted to avoid giving midweeks to the teams involved in the West Cup on the following Saturday (25th Feb)

1st March - Meadow v Glenafton. Talbot were down to play Meadow on 22nd March, so no point moving that forward. Glenafton v Talbot was also down for a Saturday, so I don't think it would be a good idea to change that to a Wed and have you idle on a Saturday. (I couldn't have foreseen the monsoon that came along)

8th March  -Talbot v Beith - Postponed. So there was a game but it had to be moved to a later date (Mon 10th April)

15th March - Cumnock played Troon. Again I wanted to avoid giving midweek games to teams playing in the West Semis on Saturday 18th March.

Just some of the reasons why some games got played and why some didn't.

Different competitions, run by different organisations, with different media support. I can only use the content provided.

For the paying customer you would just assume that all parties would work in synergy.

Considering all clubs in the WoSFL compete a retweet from the SRCC regarding draw numbers, or even the draw in full wouldve been nice. As I said, maybe a little bit polarising to congratulate Celtic on winning the league, but can't even promote a competition all its participants compete in.

Anyways trying to get back on track

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the Challenge cup draw for WOSFL Teams?

A few interesting and possible giant killing here

Bellshill Athletic v Dundonald Bluebell

Thornliewood. V Uni Stirling or Gartcairn

Winners of Newburgh or Albion Rovers at home to West Park United

Gretna at home to Darvel

East Kilbride or Nithsdale. Vs Maybole or Lochar  (can’t see this section other being an East Kilbride vs Maybole game but Lochar are the strongest of the two SOSFL teams )

Thoughts ?
