Todd_is_God
Really didn't know where to put this, but imagine it would get most traffic here. What on earth is this all about? Surely a pisstake?!
standupforthemotherwell
What's to stop a group of 54 friends going on a bus trip to a pub which happens to be near a ground? Nothing to do with football so can't see how this would apply

MazzyStar
Why is the UK government proposing these rules for Scotland (or have I missed something and it’s uk wide)?

I believe it's to do with the Vehicle Registration of Buses which is done at the UK level, by the DVLA. The same laws already apply in England and Wales apparently, not sure how often the Police enforce them though.

So basically it’s nothing to do with putting civil liberties at risk and is just some nonsense bus rules.

tamthebam
I note it mentions "sporting events" Who's more likely to get stopped by the Polis then- 20 Albion Rovers fans on the way to Gretna or a lot of pissed up rugger buggers mooning out the window on the way to Murrayfield...

ClydeTon
Laws relating to Football need to be loosened in Scotland, not tightened.

As in, they'll do it on a game-by-game basis, which for Police Scotland means they'll do it for every game.

The sanction would be the traffic commissioners removing the ability of a bus company to Trade as a licensed operator. The police won't be lifting fans for not having a starter.
