Also had the pleasure of having Greig Shields, Craig Brewster and Joe Cardle sitting directly in front of me 😊😊😊

I would have been rock hard all match and unable to concentrate on the game

I'm going to be a bit controversial here and say that playing the current back three makes us far more mobile than with Bene and Breen in the team.....

We can make errors and have pace to fix them ....

Gotta say that some of that first half was football porn from the Pars 👀👀🤔

Me and the guys I sit with were saying that too, Bene(as much as I and we all love him) could struggle getting back in initially.

Have to say that all of the supporters from both teams on here have been brilliant. Pars supporters rightfully enjoying their deserved victory with absolute gloat-free good grace, and Ton supporters responding with equal grace and humility in defeat. If only all P & B match threads could be like this.

Just back home. The consolation swally awaits .....

Only takes one person to turn it in to a bin-fire on this website.

We are right to be very pleased with the way we have started the season. It also creates a headache for McPake. Does he drop the current defensive structure once Breen and Bene are back? Not for me. No point changing something that is working well. Mad to say that, I know, given they are two of our main influencers, but you can’t drop players that are performing.

Todd is a funny one too. In my opinion, he is our best player, but who do you drop him for? As I said, all the players are working their arse off and putting a shift in.

Can anyone understand the 2 fouls McCann gave away on the byline in the second half, both for me were wild calls by the ref. Absolutely no one appealed for either.

The second one was especially bizarre. The boy gets a bad injury, but McCann never fouled him.

If everyone is fit he eases them back in via the bench, then, like you say, has a very hard call to make, although will be dependent on the fixture.

Yes. It was his Mum and Dad. Lovely touch from.our captain.

Lovely gesture from Hamilton. Saw a tweet from one of Kray’s family members who said it was his mum & dad’s first game. They were tweeting their thanks/appreciation to Section NW, Chris Hamilton and the club for their support. Really great to see. I’m sure that gesture will have meant a lot to the family.

We’ve come a long way in the last 12-15 months. There’s a real connection between the club and the fans/local community right now.

Yep. It’s like night and day. Got to be thankful for Cook in running the club the way it should be, as well as making sure he gave McPake all the tools needed to get the fans back to love going to EEP again. Nearly 5.5k at that today. That is mental for a Championship game when you aren’t one of the “established” clubs.

Not sure if that was just an off day for Morton but they were significantly worse than any team we've played this season. No midfield at all and if your centre back pairing is Baird and 39 year old Kirk Broadfoot you really have to sit a lot deeper than that to have any chance at all.

We were superb though. To think we are missing our first choice GK, captain, best player last season, and most exciting prospect and can still put in a performance like that - you love to see it. And we need to really appreciate Ben Summers while we have him cos that lad is going places.

Matty will have to sit tight on the bench and wait for a chance to get on the pitch.
He’ll only get to keep a starting spot if, heaven forbid, we get another player out  for a few weeks. Even then he’ll have to have that fantastic engine firing on all eight cylinders from the outset to keep that spot.
what an engine the laddie has

jings, I feel sorry for opposition defenders when Matty and KRH are back up and running again. The team we can field right now is more than a handful, then JMc brings any or both these lads into the fray.
I’m positively engorged at the thought

I think you're spot on. If Breen is in place of Comrie, we don't see the overlap as much on the right. A lot of our good attacking work in the 2nd half came from Comrie and MOH linking up well together.

Brilliant to see the lads stepping up at the back without Bene, brilliant to see.
