Definitely the best first half we’ve had under him anyways - that was incredible at times.  Really enjoyable.

Better than Queen of the South in April?

Very pleasing to hear this.

Some squad we'll have when Benedictus, Breen, KRH, Todd, Tod and Mehmet are back.

Also wanted to add - Dougie Imrie gets a lot of stick. But I noticed he applauded the NW guys singing about Kray Bathgate after the third goal. Credit where it’s due.

That's absolutely lovely.

Dougie Imrie as a player was one you hated playing against, but would've loved to have in your team. He's had a cracking start to his management career.

Well, where to start with this one.

It became immediately apparent that dougie's "homework" on Dunfermline that was paraded by the Tele was useless. They started incredibly wide and only had two in the middle at first.

We, meanwhile, played very narrow, and it invited Dunfermline to use the wings which - going on today, seems to be their strength. Any Pars, feel free to correct that.

The first goal was really poor. The ball flew over everyone's heads and landed perfectly at the attackers feet, in plenty of space. A defender has to be picking that up and MacDonald probably should have been further out.

The second goal was far too easy for Dunfermline as - as happened countless times throughout the game - they tore us wide open. We were very fragile at the back throughout the game and that goal was a good example of it. Far, far too easy. It almost happened again, however the shot went into the stand. (I quite enjoyed MacDonald booting the post after that one. Good to see someone cares.)

Beyond that point, Br**dfoot seemed totally fucked- not with injury, he just seemed out of energy. At about 30 minutes in...

Blues didn't seem up for it either.

The Injuries were absolutely the total opposite of what we could afford to suffer. French's injury seemed to come from the weight of the opponent going onto his leg, more than anything. It could - in a universe in which we have some luck - be a reaction. Or it's him out again and back up to Dundee.

Darragh's didn't look great either, although he was back on his feet, albeit assisted. Why he wasn't on in the first place, over Br**dfoot is beyond me. Regardless, there goes another defender...

Wilson - sure, he stayed on, but it was obvious he was struggling. He seemed to be limping for good while, up until the end, and was holding his leg at numerous points. He did continue in bursts, so hopefully he's not out for long.

Our goal was a reward for sustained pressure, which we then almost instantly conceded from, if not for some good defending by Baird(?).

The third home goal was an excellent counter-attack, that came as a result of us committing ourselves forward. Although, at that point, it was go for a goal or damage limitation, and we opted for the former.

Tactically - we had it all, undoubtedly, wrong, until about 30, 35 minutes in. Dunfermline had theirs absolutely spot on.

Bearne really did drive us forward with his pace and talent on the ball, after he came on. He never seems sure of what to do, though. He would have had a golden chance at one point if he cut to the inside of a tracking defender, but he stayed on course towards the flank, which stunted the progress of the attack. I would like to see him get more game time. He clearly has the ability and, at this moment in time, we absolutely need that.

Special mention to Dunfermline's Chalmers. What he's doing in this league I'm not really sure. Absolutely ran that game - although we didn't do much to stop him.

Well played Dunfermline,

But it's the total opposite of that statement for us.

Just in from the game. Deserved win for Dunfermline. Played some fantastic stuff and scored some good goals. Should have had a couple more. Was really impressed with their movement and passing which we couldn't cope with. We came into the game in the second half but never tested the pars keeper due to good defending and our attacking players taking too many touches. Sucker punch came with the 3rd goal which was well taken. Ohalloran  McCann and Summers all very impressive.

Edit to add Chalmers and Hamilton absolutely bossed that midfield.

From a morton perspective just not good enough and we look like a shadow of last seasons team. Worrying.

Broadfoot is still one more booking away from a suspension. Which is a shame, because at this point I'd rather see Jack Bearne, who is a winger so far out of his depth at this level it's like watching a child thrown into a professional game, at centre back.

Fifteen goals conceded in six games is absolutely appalling and we are clearly relegation material as it stands. Until we sort that defence out by getting Baird and O'Connor back together at centre back things aren't going to improve.

We only conceded 43 last term, so...

*checks calculator*

We've conceded over a third of last season's total within a sixth of the league season.

With the injuries suffered today i'm struggling to see a way we can solve this.

Was lovely when Moffat didnt even do anything tricky but had Wilson doing the worm in his own box.

The two ginger kings in the middle were a joy to watch, so composed, no fear, great touch and awareness. Can see that they are a cut above.

What a first half, what a fantastic display for young Kray, what a strike from Lewis that hit the bar, what excellent second half pressure Morton put us under, what a defensive performance from the Pars, what a well deserved goal from Morton, what superb breaks up the park from the Pars, what a player young summers is going to be, what an excellent game to watch, what a brilliant three points to the Pars.
This is one very happy Pars fan right now.

Some of the football we played was astonishing. Hitting 2010/11 levels with that performance.

Can’t add much more to what’s already been said apart from the Broadfoot card incident. I am surprised he didn’t get sent off for dissent after pointing the finger at the referee and clearly having a go at him. There was a clear verbal assault on the ref, and that together with pointing the finger; it’s quite surprising he didn’t pick up another yellow.  Think the ref shat it from him tbh. Actually think the Morton fans would be happy with him getting sent off and being suspended. He is absolutely finished at any half-decent level.

Frightening this is us with 5 guaranteed starters all missing.

Summers really is a cut above, eh? If he can stay injury-free, we are going to be murder for defences to keep out in this league. Can create so much from seemingly hopeless situations which completely splits defences. It’s beautiful to watch.

An excellent performance..said at the end was glad we got that third, deserved to win by more than 1. First half was very easy, oddly we should have made it 3 on the counter attack before half time, after Morton had a wee flurry of corners as they finally got into the game

Second half possession wise was about even, both sides prob getting into good areas pretty evenly too, but Morton could never get shots away or find the final pass. Where as I think we had 5/6 good efforts on goal. Jakubiak twice, McCann once, summers once and twice moffat after beating the right back.

Hope the Morton player injured is ok.

great tribute to Kray Bathgate, north west done him proud with the presentation and fans of both sides with the applause.

I'm going to be a bit controversial here and say that playing the current back three makes us far more mobile than with Bene and Breen in the team.....

We can make errors and have pace to fix them ....

Gotta say that some of that first half was football porn from the Pars 👀👀🤔

Well played Dunfermline,

But it's the total opposite of that statement for us.

Haven’t seen the ‘homework’ comments/article, but we had the exact same starting 11/shape as last week and your team didn’t look prepared for us.

Narrow defensive shape can work well if you sit deep and just clear any crosses into the box. But you played a very high line and we kept getting so much space in behind. Broadfoot also repeatedly stood much deeper than the rest of the line, playing everyone onside. Again, if your manager had even watched our highlights from last week, I’d be very surprised if he thought that was that best way to play against us. We honestly exploited the same kind of defensive set up against Queens Park last week.

Chalmers has been great for the last year. He was poor when we got relegated and came with poor reviews from Ayr fans. But McPake has found a system/shape that seems to get the best out of him and he’s involved in everything we do.

Have to say that all of the supporters from both teams on here have been brilliant. Pars supporters rightfully enjoying their deserved victory with absolute gloat-free good grace, and Ton supporters responding with equal grace and humility in defeat. If only all P & B match threads could be like this.

Just back home. The consolation swally awaits .....
