Add to that, Edinburgh does this thing where they have two street names on the same street. There is Sciennes and Sciennes Rd. Built on this corner is Sienna Gardens. Delivery drivers and others always getting lost around there.

There was a convent in the 16th Century dedicated to St Catherine of Siena in the area (hence St Catherine's Place)

Siena got corrupted to Sciennes ("Sheens") by the locals over time. Siena Gardens is a fairly new street compared to surrounding streets and perhaps should have been called Sciennes Gardens (PTTGOYN w@nky developers who give new estate streets names that don't fit in with older streets round about).

Now, you're a real Southsider if you can pronounce Montague Street correctly ..
