Ayr United Vs. Arbroath

A great game in prospect.

Ayr looking to banish the curse of Somerset Park. Arbroath trying to arrest a run of five league defeats in a row.

0-0.

We could hire a shaman to urinate in the four corners of the stadium and perform a sacrifice to try and banish the curse…might clear the frost as well.

If we manage to lose again at home, against a team that have just sacked their manager, got papped out the cup by a newly promoted L2 side, lost comfortably midweek and can only just about fill a starting 11 - then we should just donate the new stand to Queens Park and call it a day.

Ayr 1-2 Arbroath.

We just do not look like we are able to compete, never mind in this division- against any professional or semi professional outfit. We are quite simply not at the races and are making mistakes for fun which has lead to us looking absolutely shot of confidence - not sure how to turn this around.

Due to freeze all week in the west. Do Ayr have pitch covers?

We do whether we choose to use them though is a different matter.

Were known for not exactly being the most high tech in the world and looking like glorified bin bags...

Unless the standside section which doesn't get the sun was already covered before Monday i'd imagine the damage will have already been done, however even with -4/-5 i'd imagine unless it's a top of range cover it won't work at that low a temperature

Arbroath need to focus on the good performances they have played this season - the players need to regain the winning mentality and focus on playing passing football - they need to approach this game thinking they can win, they need self belief.

Confidence is low, we are making simple mistakes due to being nervous about conceding mistakes - the players need to play for themselves, focus on their strong points and get everyone involved playing simple passing football.

A good, fighting performance is required to regain the player's confidence - they need to approach this game thinking they can win.

We have hit rock bottom - but the players need to pick themselves up, rally round and tell themselves they can win this game.

Now is the time for the players to roll up their sleeves and get ready to battle - forget about the games we have lost and focus on winning.

Ayr gift at least two guilt edged chances a game. It’s up to the opposition to take them, but we always seem to oblige.

We have been sluggish up front in recent weeks, the shots on target vs goals scored against Peterhead tells its own story. We’ll either lose or draw in miserable circumstances or we will absolutely pump Arbroath. I don’t see a 1-2 goal Ayr win.
