I thought so too. We're past masters at giving away soft goals towards the end of games, and the resilience was good to see.

Broadfoot had been fine (ducking one in the first half aside) but it's quite telling that we finished the game with (most of) our preferred centre backs, and a natural left back and right back all playing. Wilson and Blues as the midfield two also looked pretty comfortable and worked their socks off chasing and winning second balls.

Generally a decent performance and a massive 3 points. Gillespie played as well as he has all season before he went off and there was the high press we became used to last season, especially in the second half. Boyd was very good at that in his time on the pitch today.

Any word on what happened to Ricky Little, looked like a bad one with nobody near him?

Apparently doesn’t appear to be broken but badly swollen so to be assessed. Looked like he rolled it badly on the very soft surface

Really pleased at the result in and of itself obviously, good platform to make some ground this month now.

The manner was really pleasing too - while we weren’t dazzling I think you seen the benefit of a fuller squad today, being able to bring on 4 actual professional footballers after the equaliser meant we didn’t capitulate after the equaliser as we would have in past months.

Looked and sounded a sore one for Little, hope he’s alright.

This is the best game a new manager could have.  Through all the turmoil of the last 18 months, Morton have been our one constant, our north star, our comfortable 3 points.  It'll be interesting to see they can do something against a new manager.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Worked out well then

Encouraging to hear. Friend or foe - no proper supporter of the game enjoys seeing a player suffer a serious injury. Best wishes to him for a speedy recovery.

Must be some huge pressure on Morton for this one.  Given that Dick seemed to have that entire club in his personal trophy cabinet, if they can't beat us when the Campbells have left and we are rank bad, when will they ever be able to beat us?

The start of a new era today. Obviously needing to take the usual 3 points against Morton. Even if McIntyre hasn't altered much in the short time he's been here, hopefully he's going to manage to get the players up for it.

That'll be the natural order effortlessly reasserting itself.

Thanks for playing anyway.

Morton were poor.  We were worse, which is frightening.

I have to agree with this. A few Morton fans getting a wee bit cocky on here but other than us they are by far the worst team I've seen at Gayfield this season.  Admittedly to be fair to them the conditions were awful.

Dry yer eyes.

Nobody who’s watched us this season is getting anywhere near ‘cocky’… massively relieved, on the other hand…

In fact, the only cockiness on show came from one or two of your lot… before the game, lolz.

Nice to see Bearne keep up his good run of form. Struggled for a while with the speed and physicality of the league and he's still got some way to go, but if he can do it on a cold, wet Saturday in Arbroath then he'll be fine.

Excellent 3 points but also some encouraging signs of what's to come.
