Last year I did dry January but drank on the first until midnight as my defence was everyone toasts the bells, my mates claimed I hadn’t done it.
Solution not toast or count Feb first?

The 1st doesn't count for a dry January.

You toasted for 24 hours?  Fair play.

I also do dry Jan starting from the day before I go back to work, which will be on the 3rd for me this year.

Don’t let anyone tell you it doesn’t count.

I am going for it, the only period I have had off the bevvy was when I had an operation 12 years ago and couldnt drink for 3 months.

I felt much fitter, lost weight and slept better.

Its time for another go, I have nothing much planned for January (my birthday aside, but its at the end so I can wait til Feb) so will just avoid social stuff.

Will post back here when I inevitably fail............................

I’m on it again. For those like me that struggle with just juice, can I recommend Lucky Saint lager? Genuinely tastes like the real stuff and a godsend at the weekends or if  having to socialise.

Every month is a dry month for me but surely doing Dry January is easier than any other month because everyone is skint after Christmas.

I’m always off for the first week in January so it wouldn’t be a month I’d want to go sober for that reason alone.

February, March, June, October and November would all be more convenient for me to not drink.

Im all for people going sober but just hate all of this dry January/dryathlon/octsober dickwaving nonsense. Just don’t drink and shut the f**k up about it.
