T F B v T N S

Palmerston final, aye? The most southerly decent sized ground before the border, good atmosphere when it's nearly full (testing my memory here tbf). OK it's falling to bits, but hey that's just detail ...

As an airdrie fan, now feeling the pressure of Scottish football. In all seriousness, we can’t let a Welsh team win this fucking tournament. Falkirk can’t be relied on. I hope we can win it purely to save the embarrassment

I still stand by that Airdrie are crap. We were an embarrassment last season which is why we lost in the playoffs so badly. If we drop any points against you next season it’s unacceptable.

What about the other games last season? And the season before that? And the one before that? Etc etc

People do know that its actually an English team that plays in the Welsh league that is now in the final of a Scottish Cup competition.

They are a joint Welsh and English team, incorporating the border towns of Llansantffraid in Wales and Oswestry in England, and are the most successful club in the Welsh league structure, with 15 league titles to their name. Since the 2001–02 season, they have finished as champions or runners-up in every season, apart from 2008–09, when they finished third.

The thing is, the SFA will be fucking delighted with this result and even more so if TNS win the whole thing. It’ll give them some kind of justification for having the Welsh and N Irish teams in it in the first place, prove them right and that the format works.

Can anyone think of another football association on the planet that would actively support and promote another country’s football to the detriment of their own?

Also, don’t understand the calls for an equidistant neutral. It’s a Scottish competition so it really has to be hosted somewhere here. Having said that it’s the SFA so they might go for Wrexham or Chester.

They're the only full time club in the Welsh Premier League, have zero connection with Llansantffraid other than nicking their Welsh heritage, their ground is in England and 90% of their players are Scousers.

I actually like that they’ve introduced Welsh and Irish teams to the competition. Gives fans trips and  days out to places they otherwise wouldn’t have. Lighten up.
