Clyde Vs Stranraer, New Douglas Park Links

Recommended Posts

Abysmal performance even allowing for the wind. Dreadful passing throughout.

King an utter shambles at left back and loses possession at every single throw in. Howie still thinks he's 100 times better than he really is and has almost cost us twice with utterly dreadful passes when he didn't even look first.

Don’t think we should be too disheartened with that. Playing against the wind, we have probably shaded a poor half. Not that I’m biased, but Stranraer are pretty lucky to still have 11 men after a dreadful tackle in the middle of the park. We should have the wind advantage this half but of course it all counts for nothing if we can’t get a winner.

Marginally better of two poor sides, though Stranraer had one very good passage from one end to the other.

Pure cowardice from the ref not sending the Stranraer player off for the boot into Allan's face.

King is more of a reliable defensive option than McGinn, but he's a bag of nerves back there and makes so many poor decisions. Howie has had an absolute shocker as well, hopefully a few eyes opened for those who worry about Sula's work in possession. Plenty of graft elsewhere but the usual lack of quality, we're barely better than at the end of December despite the players that have come in. The good news is that we'll have the wind here, I suppose.

wow- that was neve biting. 10 minutes ago it looked grim. Bonnyrigg 2-1 up and a draw not much use to Clyde. Now its a real three horse dog fight.

Ultimately down to guts and a bit of luck but the momentum is definately with Clyde.

Looking at the remaining last four games  next week Stranraer, Bonnyrigg and Clyde are all away with equally diffcult opposition.  The game on 20th Clyde play Stenny who have nbothing to play for outside revenge for that humping. Stranraer and Bonny at home v mid table teams. Second last game we're at home to East Fife, Bonnyrigg away at Stenny and Stranraer away to Forfar. Perhaps Clyde have the easier tie?

It may go down to the last day Bonnyrigg have the easiest tied on paper v Forfar, but Strarnaer play the champions Stenny and who knows how bothered they will be. The trip to Elgin for Clyde looks tricky.

Clyde have a great chance now but I think we need to have pulled ahead before the last Saturday.
