Both sets of fans would want the opportunity to win the league against their rivals. It’s to try and avoid another shame game happening. The thing you fail to understand is that every game involving Celtic and/or Rangers is a “shame” game due to the toxic supporters of both clubs.

I don’t really fail to understand it, rather I was simply using one specific games informal title to make my point about why they want to avoid title clinchers in these matches.
'WellDel
Why not just let them have a decider on the last day.? They can't help themselves with the bigoted shite, so pre-warn them that any carry on will result in them being jettisoned from the league. Let them batter fk out each other, with the police and army on standby with water cannons and rubber bullets to sort it all out, then perma-ban the loathsome cnuts when it's all over. An unsavoury, yet guaranteed way to get the result the rest of us all want. A man can but dream...
Thenorthernlight
What a shitey, cowardly, backward little police ran country we live in The SPFL shitting a brick to avoid what every other country in the world would do, a final day decider. All because the police won’t &/or can’t do their job effectively. Utterly pathetic.

It's just guessing and double guessing. Just pick a date and whatever happens, happens in terms of winning the league or not.
ropy
Are they avoiding a shame game because the players will misbehave? Or the fans in the ground (only Celtic fans)? Or is it the domestic violence up and down the land? Or is the concern a showdown in George Square?
Vietnam91
The OF fixture is always picked at a point where the title can't be decided and not after someone is crowned, GW35 is the usual.

TPAFKA Jersey 2
Why do they need to know the result of tomorrow’s game to ensure the don’t make the OF game a decider? Why not just make it the first game after the split?

Tbh they shoukd just schedule it last day and leave the issues to the police, it's hardly unpolicable, the do cup finals which are logistically much worse regularly

From a policing point of view - a 50/50 split crowd at a final is surely worse than a 90/10 or a 100/0 split in a league game. Arseholes in pubs are going to be the same regardless...

FWIW I think the SPFL are the biggest apologists here. Pretty sure Police Scotland haven't issued some order to the SPFL not to make an OF game the final fixture. The governing body know fine they cant be trusted not to shame their brand and they themselves then take it upon themselves to avoid it whilst never actually saying why leaving it open to the type of speculation we are seeing now. I guess the only difference is that an OF Cup Final can't be avoided whereas a title decider can. However, on the plus side, a Cup Final would have both sets of fans present, while title decider will only have Celtic fans. All of this suggests that @Insert Amusing Pseudonym is correct in his assertion that this is really down to Sky.
