Elixir
By the way, will the people who didn't want Shankland to start at least now own up to having some sense of shame?
DrewDon
Honestly, if I wasn't Scottish I would find Scotland fans and the team in general a great source of amusement.

I actually think with it zoomed in that Armstrong actually is offside
Beachcomber
Adams & Robertson were rotten. We played 3 centre backs v 1 Hungarian striker and don't think McGregor played a forward pass all game, maybe he gets a pass as no-one was making forward runs ! Took us until 85 mins to look remotely interested. Clarke has to go.
Coooombe
What on earth were Robertson and McGregor playing at tonight btw? Captain and vice captain, both absolutely shite. Robertson couldn't kick his own arse and McGregor slowed the game down and let Hungary get set up every time he got the ball. Like he wanted to play walking football.

I did once, but not on purpose. Mind when Ayr lost the 2nd last game of the season away at Alloa? When it looked like we had blown the title? "That's the fucking left back!" - that day. BBC Alba caught me just stood there after the final whistle miserable and fucking raging - my mates like dragging the screenshot out every now and then. It's surely natural to grab on to something when you're falling? There was a lot going on. He looked just onside, but did he look for the contact by hanging his leg out? Did the officially look negatively on the shirt pull?
eez-eh
McGregor has been rotten. I was incredulous to see McGinn coming off instead of him.

He won’t a trophy where he had a bigger budget than the rest of the tournament combined and still managed to get completely in the final and nick it in the last minute. His only trophy in about in about 30 years of management.
itzdrk
Strange one as McGinn, Ralston and Gunn probably our better players from the starters despite having had a poor time of it so far. McTominay, Robertson and Gilmour were pretty poor on the night except small moments. Not sure how much their performance hindered the plan.

pub car king
You can see why Clarke kept it tight for so long because they cut us open time and again. We had to go for it but we lacked quality up front or in defence. Absolute shite ref didn't help either. Going forward Clarke needs to find a plan B because we're set up not to concede goals and we haven't even managed that. We have not learned single thing from the last Euros and have gone out again in almost the same fashion.

Because kids rated at 16 means nothing in terms of moving up to pro level. The demands are exponential as they get older and move up. That's when they are found out. We dont suddenly stop developing at 21, the players overall aren't good enough. A hard nosed brutal fact.

Did the officially look negatively on the shirt pull? I don't think there's any question Armstrong knew what he was doing, certainly. But even if he was looking for the contact it was still a genuine foul on him. Still, there's no point dwelling on it. That we're discussing one chance we had sums up how badly wrong Clarke got it.
