BFTD
As an addendum to this post, we've had our new TV for a couple of days, and it's pretty good. Nice clear picture on the few HD sources we've tried, and it's decent enough with the SD Freeview that's built in, although I'll be picking up a Freeview HD box at some point. The 120Hz mode is certainly interesting, giving everything a smoother, clearer look like a TV show. I can see why folk might not like it, but I do, and you can always turn it off. Sound is very loud and clear, but sadly missing any bass whatsoever, so I'll be investing in some new speakers at some point as well. Happier with this TV than the last one TBH. I realise nobody gives a shit, but you never know

Central
A 'youtuber' (guy who speaks to a camera talking shite and posting videos on youtube) just made a video explaining how he RENTS an apartment in LA for $13,000 per month. I hate how daft some people are with money.

BFTD
Rents in America are generally ludicrous anyway. Every second case on Judge Judy (shut up) involves a couple of hicks from Idaho who are suing each other over a broken lease. Judy inevitably asks for the monthly rent on their six-foot-square studio apartment above a slaughterhouse, and it turns out to have been $2750 or similar Maybe a slight exaggeration, but my point still stands!
Grim O'Grady
Utterly ludicrous. There's me knocking my pan in day in day out as well.^^^The League of Throbber thread for this pish. Grimbo
Grim O'Grady
You should start up a YouTube channel Grimbo. You could document your Leith Walk pub crawls and stream them live. It could pay for your quiff restoration. Now there's an idea, good lad Mozzathe2nd, you're not a pretty face. Grimbo Eta Just.
Miguel Sanchez
The egg chasing being on channel 1 means the football is on 2, and I don't get BBC 2 Scotland HD on freeview Rugby in general, really. Shit for c***s.
19QOS19
Fùck that. You and 19QOS19 could have a lovely relationship, you'd never see each other right enough. That's plenty! I'm long weekend this weekend, no way would I be working it. Though you get a bundle for overtime so I won't be averse to it should I need some extra pocket money

kerrdavidson95
Watched my nephew playing football this morning. His team got bodied 17-0 (but they don't count scores), but his team were told "they played well, they had some good touches and they were unlucky". The coaching system in this country is completely f*cked. I mean, imagine as a coach watching your team being bodied but because of the way you were taught to coach you can't get torn into them. Absolute joke.

Fae_the_'briggs
In TV soaps and plays when there is a controversial or distressing storyline a voice-over at the end tells us to contact crisis counsellors if we have been affected by the storyline yet very rarely do the people in the programme contact these counsellors. If they are so good why aren't they brought in to deal with the crisis. Why do people on TV soaps never watch soaps on the telly? How do people in soaps all manage to get jobs within a 100 yards of where they live? How can working families (or even non-working families) in soaps afford to go out to the local cafe so often to have breakfast/lunch/tea?
Deeboy
I don't like alcohol. I don't need alcohol. Every single weekend, I get bored, then I go out and drink for two days. Am I leading a life destined for the gutter?

Dot Cotton mentioned watching Corrie when it was having an anniversary. I do wonder what's on TV in Walford at 7:30pm on Tuesdays on BBC One. Presumably The Weakest Link, since that tune still appears to always be playing when characters are sitting in front of their TVs.
Adam
I don't like alcohol. I don't need alcohol. Every single weekend, I get bored, then I go out and drink for two days. Am I leading a life destined for the gutter? The old Sunday night blues. They'll pass mate! FWIW I had a serious think to myself about eight weeks ago, wondering if it was all worth it. I've had a few beers since, but nothing to the extent I was doing previously, and I have to say I do feel much better for it...
Deeboy
It's definitely something I need to put out there. Not sure this is the place though! I was heading into the pub yesterday and thinking 'what am I even doing here?' Then proceeded to chuck about £200 away and get home about 6 tonight. I don't know if I need help, need a different circle of friends or just need to pack up and fùck off elsewhere. Something needs decided, that's for sure.
philpy
One of our neighbours has his own business which started off with one van, but now he has two, and a car. It's hard enough Getting parked at times, but this is making it worse. The annoying thing is, the spaces aren't classed as private or residents only, nor are there any bays marked out, so nothing can be done.
