Does that not correspond to the number of the menu? As in the other day I got menus 9, 14 and 25. This then matches with the brown bag that has that number and contains the ingredients required.

I don't know how it works to be honest. I thought it was that, but we've had repeat numbers but never a repeat recipe.

Think it varies week by week. f**k knows, the only time I’ve had any mistakes was when I got give additional chicken. I quite like it actually, it’s pretty expensive now I’m out of free boxes/discounts but it’s made me cook a variety of food that I probably previously wouldn’t have at home. Reckon I might do it once a month or something.

That'll be it. I forgot the menus changed week by week, so this Petty thing on my nerves,  is because we ordered items 1, 2, 3 and 5.

We are still on discounted boxes, and agree with the variety, I've cooked some stuff I'd never heard of. We'll likely end up similar, once a month or so.

Sounds more like an Escape Room than a dinner.

I skipped my box of Hello Fresh this week and they just sent it anyway, without the email asking to pick dishes, meaning I just got the standard shite. I cancelled the subscription completely and left feedback, but there’s no complaints contact number/email. I like it in general but that had me seething.

I can (just) remember the AC Milan teams of the 90s and 00s. It's a shambles to see that c**t wearing their short.

I can remember watching Football Italia on a Sunday and the AC Milan team, specifically at the back was a who's who of future legends of the game

They were brilliant at the pressing game. An opponent received a pass and 25 milliseconds later, his ankles were snapped.

Mother is nearly 90 and either going deaf or in the early stages of losing it , waiting on assessment from doctor.

Today phoned Halifax to cancel a direct debit. Gave phone to mother to answer security questions but apparently was unable to answer to their satisfaction.

End result after 20 minutes of arguing with employee and supervisor, DD for £11 still not cancelled. Would have been a different story if I was trying to get money out of the account but to refuse to cancel a DD. I was told to try phoning back and she maybe able to answer the questions then or call at the branch!

There is doing your job and being an officious arse.

Can't you contact the people the D/D is being paid to and cancel it at their end?

What about signing her up to online banking? It's simple enough to cancel DDs that way.

Shocking behaviour from these scum, do you not have power of attorney for her?

My mum recently mentioned that she's been in touch with her bank to have me added to her account so I can deal with her money when she's unable to in the future.

Thought she was getting ahead of herself a wee bit, but I'm a bit relieved having read this. Must be a nightmare if your old yins are the type to insist they're perfectly capable right up the bitter end. Or, I suppose, if you're elderly yourself and know that you can't trust your kids not to rob you blind.

Family friend had heart attack at Christmas time, fit and healthy all be it 81 but looks twenty years younger.

That lead to the conversation with my folks about poa and getting it sorted, dad was 70 in February.

My grandfather refused so it and made it very difficult after my granny died and he was well into dementia.

Aye, folk have to talk about it at some point.

In my youth, I worked with an older boy who arrived in a foul mood one day - his mother was trying to get him named as a co-tenant on the council house they lived in so he'd have no problems continuing to live there after she died. She discussed it with him and apparently he lost the place; came in to the work ranting and raving to the folk who knew him better than me. It's not a pleasant subject, but folk are only storing up problems for the future not to discuss it.

Might have a word with the wean when he gets in the night just to freak him out. He's 15

My other granny left it too late and now her house sale paying for care, she wouldn’t listen and wasn’t signing her house to anyone. Stubbornness runs on family.

Yeah, seems fairly common, unfortunately.

Like I say, glad my mum's on top of this. No idea what my old man's got planned, as he lives a long way off and has stepchildren who he's lived around much more than me, so I think I'll just go with the flow on that front.
