Petty Things That Get On Your Nerves...

Recommended Posts

People who play puggies who dont know what they're doing.

People who know every inch of a puggie, "hold that, press that, tap the side four times then break wind and you'll get on the board"

Then tut when you've done everything you've been told and a big "lose" lights up.

Leave me alone, it's my money and if I want to waste it watching the pretty flashing lights then that's my business.

We have a big crack in the ceiling in the flat. We reported it to east lothian council only to be told that we would have to remove the woodchip from the ceiling ourselves in order for them to inspect it. Aye right, we do that and then the ceiling might fall on top of us? i think im right in telling the council to piss off eh??

Same thing happened to me, but a little worse. I was stripping woodchip off the ceiling (there's one, who the f*ck puts woodchip on a ceiling?!) and there was a massive crack in the plaster, it was moving when I pushed it but just left alone. About 20 minutes in I'm up the ladder and all of a sh*tload of plaster comes crashing down, about half a foot away from me. I phone the council (wednesday) and explain, the woman gets back to me and says they cannot get out until friday, I tell her she doesn't understand that my ceiling has collapsed and that they need to get someone out asap so the rest doesn't come down. Someone then magically comes within minutes to have a look. As a result of this delay in moving in, we fall behind by a week's rent, no sooner had we missed the week, we get a letter telling us we are behind. Yes, you're slow to get people out to help, but the minute we don't hold up our end of the bargain you're quick enough to get in f*ck*ng contact  Arseholes!

As the only foreigner in the building (other than the Americans who have just moved in next door) I am being blamed for the following:

- Not locking the door to the building which locks itself

- Putting pizza boxes in the wheelie bins (where else should I put them)

- In their (the building co-operative) words "there's been a lot of people going up and down in the lift and we don't know why" - eg. I'm a foreigner so I must be some crazy drug dealing warlord.

You even have to keep your voice down whilst walking past police officers now, because if they hear you speak English they ask for your passport - and if you don't have it on you - instant £70 fine. A photocopy is meant to do, but not to those skinheads in disguise.

The xenophobia in this country is insane. I've lived here for five years and try to keep to myself.

That sounds pretty rough man. Why do police officers insist on a passport, if you don't mind me asking?
