peasy23
Should be an entertaining morning session. Wickets irrelevant at this stage really, Aussie batsmen will have the freedom to score as quickly as possible. Expecting them to make the declaration just after lunch. If they do score quickly enough I think they will declare in time for England to face 4 or 5 overs before lunch.
peasy23
Worrying scenes as Chris Rogers retired hurt. He had, been struck on the head early on but it was 20 minutes or so later before he sunk to the ground looking groggy. Smith came in and the Aussies are still motoring on at 165-0, lead now around 420.
Lex
There's the declaration just before lunch at 254-2, England need a world record run chase of 509 to win. Edited July 19, 2015 by Lex
DensParkNumber1
Glorious defeat with England at 350-400 all out
Lex
Cook and Lyth gone quickly. England 23-2 and the predictable top order collapse is happening already. This could be over by the end of the day. Edited July 19, 2015 by Lex
nelsjfc
Big trouble now. Cooks the one your looking to hang in. Root aside, you can't see anyone batting for a day
Lex
There goes Ballance. 42-3 Turning into a procession. Root into salvage some pride...?
peasy23
There goes Ballance. 42-3 Turning into a procession. Root into salvage some pride...? Personal pride maybe, but this could be finished today.
WullieBroonIsGod
Adam Lyth really struggling at test level. His century came on his home ground and probably will give him a free ride for a few more tests, but the fragile top order collapses are starting with him
WullieBroonIsGod
And with that, the man under the spotlight, Ian Bell, departs.
peasy23
Keystone cops stuff from England now, 5 down with Stokes run out, even though he would have been comfortably in if he had actually bothered to ground his bat.
WullieBroonIsGod
And followed up by a shambolic run out by Stokes. aussies will be at St Andrews tomorrow at this rate
kerrdavidson95
Stokes gone too. Squad for next test should be: Hales, Cook, Root, Ali, Bairstow, Stokes, Buttler, Rashid, Wood, Broad, Anderson.
booitsme7
Ben Stokes getting run out. This will be over Today.
AberdeenBud
Lyth and Ballance need punted, I'd stick with bell for now, as daft as it sounds possibly promote him. Hales opening with Cook, Bairstow in and Ali pushed up the order as well. Edited July 19, 2015 by AberdeenBud
Sarto Mutiny
Pathetic from Stokes. Too busy worrying about being hit with the ball to ground his bat. Idiot.
DensParkNumber1
At this rate they would be doing well to reach 150!
Sarto Mutiny
At this rate they would be doing well to reach 150!Root and Buttler will have a century partnership. Then there will be another collapse.
Benjamin_Nevis
What an utterly pant-shitting performance this has been from England, exemplified by that laughable run-out. Schoolboy stuff. 6 down now to MJ's first ball after tea Edited July 19, 2015 by jupe1407
Lex
Buttler gone first ball after tea... England 64-6 Pretty humiliating stuff here, unbelievable to think they beat Aus just a week ago. The gap between the sides looks huge at the moment.
