Detournement
£20 million from the Scottish Government to the SRU. 2/3rds of the total football is receiving which is difficult to justify. I wonder how much Dodson will pocket.

Genuine Hibs Fan
Here's a question that I always have with the residency qualified players argument, as we've seen with Jaco, Duhan and Oli all playing this Autumn. I see the clubs are bringing in a few lineage Scots qualified lads brought up in NZ, Aus and SA. Why do folk think this is any better? If someone lives in a country for long enough that they could reasonably be expected to have grown attached to, why is it wrong for them to play for that country but not guys whose connection is a granny they barely knew?
Mark Connolly
Great to see Luke Pearce doing his usual in the Embra game, and just hoping the ball will come out of rucks before he has to give a penalty.
Detournement
McInally tells the ref the last pass was forward. Pearce says he won't check it because it wasn't clear to him. Surely if it was clear he would have blown the whistle? It was very obviously forward.
AngusTheBull
Edinburgh probably pretty happy with the score line as is considering it’s taken 35 mins to have possession in the La Rochelle 22. Surprised to see not that much pressure being put on their flaky line out as well.
Detournement
That looked like a knock on from Bennett but at least Pearce is being even.

Detournement
Very poor from Edinburgh. The usual big errors in big moments from Kinghorn and Pyrgos. Looking forward to seeing the Davids of Glasgow conquer Exeter Goliath tomorrow...... Aye right

Pearce killed Edinburgh’s only spell of pressure by completely guessing on the knock-on/penalty. Can’t say Edinburgh deserved anything at all from it though, pretty terrible.

I think most would be a lot happier if we were much less reliant on both and produced more of our own players, although we'd certainly have far less depth if you took out all players produced outside Scotland. What's most disappointing recently is that players produced elsewhere are being given contracts over young Scottish players when there is little to no difference between the two. 10 years ago this may have been more understandable but the standard of young player coming through in the last 5 years has improved greatly and good players aren't getting a shot. All the investment in improving the academies in recent times seems a waste when some of the better players they produce are let go at the expense of similar quality foreigners. AngusTheBull
Gordon dropping out is a big blow, he’s been one of Glasgow’s only bright sparks this season. Interesting that McDonald has gone to six - has he ever played there before? Thought he was a lock only and Harley would have been the obvious move.
