Craig fae the Vale
As local as it gets for me. Pretty nice if a bit thinner than I was hoping for.
Eednud
Haven’t had a Coopers Dark Ale for maybe 15 or 20 years and I know why. Sweet and bland and 2 make matters worse 2 out of 3 bottles consumed so far have been almost flat. 3 to go and buy no more.

philpy
Brewdog hazy Jane. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but the co-op was selling 4 packs for £3.60. Also picked up a 4 pack of Camden pale for £3.30.

Archie McSquackle
From earlier this afternoon. I'm on the Grimbergen Blanche, McSquackle Jnr. is on Grimbergen Blonde (although he said he preferred mine). Both really nice in a stunning setting.
Archie McSquackle
I've been in a few different supermarkets this holiday and the choice of standard supermarket beer in France seems to have reduced to Kronenbourg (1664 or standard) or Heineken. You used to be able to get much more variation (I liked Biere 33 but it seems to have disappeared) - I guess the predominance of huge brewers affects here as much as anywhere. You get a much better range in supermarkets of the non-standard lager style beers though and the standard draught beer in a bar (a pression) could be a Heineken, Leffe, Kronenbourg, Grimbergen or Paulaner (in the case of this campsite). I only became aware of Grimbergen a few years ago but there range really seems to have grown - this Pale Ale is delicious, tastes like a mixture of a pale ale and a white beer.
AnderooMFC
Not drinking tonight, but for those who like Irish Cream drinks and chocolate, Aldi have brought out a limited edition Peanut Butter flavoured Ballycastle for 7.50. Think Baileys-rip-off mixed with Reese's Pieces. Bought two bottles yesterday. It will either be really great or really horrible.
Archie McSquackle
Let us know. Like you, I think this could go either way. Edited July 15, 2023 by Archie McSquackle
Craig fae the Vale
Really does taste like an ice cream. Perhaps a bit sweet, but fairly pleasant
Craig fae the Vale
In Newcastle for a few days and have stopped by Brewdog. Neon Dream by Brewdog, a delightful fruited wheat beer. Sprinkles With That Bab by Sommer, a really good milkshake IPA. And Feed Us To The Sharks by Fallen Acorn, a really tasty Double IPA. Sprinkles With That Bab pictured.

Archie McSquackle
Trying some beers from the local brewery Au Riz De Camargue. Their white beer is quite nice but I've still not had anything on this holiday to beat Grimbergen's Pale Ale (empty bottle in background).
