Option of a visit to Lesser as a Livi fan is there for those who want/need it. Plan on going myself, although I’ll probably hold off buying a ticket until nearer the time so I’m not taking a ticket away from an actual Livi supporter.

Someone fancy being a good egg and adding this to the futbology app.

Tried twice and no success thus far.

Tried the other day as well, obviously with no success. They seem a bit funny with certain games - must be 5/6 times over the last 12 months I’ve tried to add the 2007 Challenge Cup Final, but no luck.

Fauldhouse United 1-1 Kirkcaldy and Dysart

Wednesday night wander to West Lothian today for Fauldhouse from the #bestleagueintheworld against Kirkcaldy from two above.

Park View is hidden up behind houses so if you can find it you're doing well. If you do though, you're in for a treat. Really cool wee ground with a coo shed at one side, a proper club in the corner and concrete steps or grass banks round the rest.

I have never hidden my love for the East Third. Just find it a fantastic league nice folks, good venues and the Hoose are no exception. They did the league proud tonight. You obviously never read too much into friendlies but they matched 7th tier YM for much of the game and took a deserved lead after half time. Kirkcaldy equalise after a clearance late on rebounds off a YM player and goes in.

Looking forward to another brilliant season in tier 9 and so should you. Hopefully the league is more competitive now Bo'ness and Armadale have been promoted. The additions of Lochgelly, Hawick, Craigroyston and Linton Hotspur mean it's not just a West Lothian League this year.

Big thumbs up for Park View. Well worth coming.

Blantyre Vics 3-1 Forth Wanderers, 05/07/23.

A late decision to head along to this one. A really entertaining game. Arrived just too late to see the visitors take the lead, but did see them miss a couple of chances and have one disallowed for offside. Then Vics got level before half-time and really had the better of it after that.

Two second half goals finished it, but the second half was played at a good pace and the game zipped by. Really enjoyable for a friendly. Young lad wearing 45 for Blantyre caused no end of bother with crosses from dead balls. Could be a player if he can start doing that from open play too.

Good wee ground but last time I was at Park View it was a thundery night and the place was midge central. It made me want to take up smoking

They had a foldout stand behind one of the goals mounted in a truck trailer. That seems to have gone judging by your pics so I'm glad I got a photo of it last time.

Sent them a message on Instagram regarding the issue and they sorted the issue barring one "small" error.

Bathgate Thistle 2-0 Armadale AFC

Deserved win for Bathgate who were the better team through out and forced several good saves from Armadale keeper. Thankfully there is a large covered terrace at Creamery Park as rain was torrential for most of the evening.

I was last there in 2016, I remember that being there as there was nothing before. Think their wee bar was called The Howff.

Confirmed that my first English game this season will be carlisle vs Wigan on 15th August. Not completely random, as this will be our second visit to brunton park. Good day out nonetheless.  Hopefully get a few local games in before then, already done dunbar,  preston athletic and mussy, so tranent, haddington, dalkeith,  Newtongrange, arniston, bonnyrigg,  easthouses, and Ormiston are still on my to do list.

Drymen United 3-3 Deanston, a.e.t., Drymen win 4-2 on penalties

The final of the MacGregor Ferguson Cup, for clubs in the Forth and Endrick League, was played last night. This is the only final that isn't at a neutral venue but one team is drawn as the home team. It happened to be at the usual final venue for this league as Drymen generally gets used for most finals due to the excellent facilities they have. This ground wouldn't look out of place in the West of Scotland League for example.

The game itself was excellent, Drymen had a quick start and took an early 2-0 lead. Deanston got one back, both had plenty of chances the rest of the first half but it was 2-1 at HT. In the second half Drymen scored around the hour mark and looked to wrap it up, but Deanston pulled one back again and equalised right at the death, taking the game into extra time. Late in the first half of extra time Drymen looked like they hit the self-destruct button. First one of their strikers got a straight red for swearing at the referee. Just a minute or so later their other striker got booked for kicking the ball away (something he done several times and already had a warning for so his own fault entirely), he then kept on moaning at the referee for so long that he got his second and they had to play the 2nd half of extra time with 9 men. As expected, Deanston had most of the play for the rest of extra time but they didn't manage to get through the hosts' well-organised defence. The game had to be decided on penalties, all Drymen's penalties were excellent, their goalkeeper also made one brilliant save and one Deanston player hit the post, meaning Drymen won the cup. The Stirling University (LL side) manager Chris Geddes played for Deanston. His fitness isn't the greatest anymore, but it was clearly visible he played at a high level based on his technique and skills to read the game.

Good day out, I also had a great chat with the league's chairman, he loved it that 2 Dutchmen (I've done all these grounds with a Dutch mate of mine who also lives in Scotland) been to every ground in their league.

Threave Rovers 3-3 Clydebank

Combining my two origin stories, D&G (not the borders you heathens) and Clydebank for a first visit to the now 9th tier Threave in Castle Douglas.

Nice drive down before meeting friends who are holidaying at Gatehouse for lunch. Afterwards a short drive down the Meadow Park.

What a stoater of a ground this is! I know it's skewed a bit as Threave adopted a license quite early but that this is in tier nine and Central Park Cowdenbeath was in tier two within the last decade is quite something. Decent sized stand with some covered standing opposite. Otherwise open standing but with both tarred and grass options.

Fantastic game of football. Clydebank scored early and most probably thought that was the flood gates opening but Threave equalise within 60 seconds and take the lead directly from a freekick shortly afterwards. Game swung back and forth but no winner was forthcoming. Our hopes of a 6-5 dashed still less than a pound a goal though. Cannie whack it.

If you get the chance, Meadow Park should definitely be on your to do list. Fantastic ground, hopefully Threave can progress up the West Leagues and earn a place in the pyramid that their ground deserves.

Scone Thistle 3 East Fife U20 3. Farquharson Park, Scone.
Took the opporchancity to drop off Mrs Mantis to see the gardens at Scone Palace with the cunning plan of taking in a game. Also a nice pre-match pint and steak panini at the Scone Arms, a decent hostelry.
