Gig at PRZYM on Thursday, beers and Sichuanese in Westminster on Friday, haircut and beard trim before match on Saturday, All Points East Festival at Victoria Park in London; 46 years after The Clash played Rock Against Racism. APE apparently a conduit for the LGBTQ plus community.....I'm just happy to see girls with guitars..... Probably watch Farnborough Town in the months looking forward. And, Maidstone United is a cracking little club, if anyone is nearby. (Although, in my view, the town is a bit of a dump.....) Was lucky enough to walk through Vicky Park on my way to work . Probably the highest density of beards in London, including my own. Maidstone's ground is surprisingly scenic. Options to watch games down there are pretty good. I used to wake up and just pick a random game.
Dan Electro
AFC Wimbledon versus Fleetwood Town tomorrow. Might as well take in as many grounds as I can when down here. Haven't spent a weekend in Farnborough itself, though I will do as the Aircraft Museum is only open on weekends and Bank Holidays. More tomorrow.
Jute
Tynecastle 4-0 Glasgow Uni Scottish Cup 2nd preliminary round. Entertaining cup tie in the late summer sunshine who could resist. Glasgow started the brighter in first half creating a few half chances however once Tynecastle scored it seemed to knock their confidence and Tynecastle took control and were 4-0 up at half time. Was expecting second half to be a rout but Glasgow Uni rallied a bit and Tynecastle eased off a little and second half was a lot closer. Meggatland is a great place to watch football.
tamthebam
Tweedmouth Rangers 4 Peebles Rovers 0 28th August 2024 A wee jaunt down to Berwick for a midweek game. You always get some really nice sunsets in Berwick for some reason. Peebles were doing ok..ish until they had a player send off for a second yellow. Then it was mostly Tweedmouth. "Everybody has a plan until they get hit in the face" I had a really peppery pie of the type you don't get much of these days. Yum. A goal
tamthebam
I went to the Killie v Copenhagen game last night as a treat. While I'd been to Rugby Park for Junior Cup Finals the last time I saw Killie play there it was against Meadowbank Thistle... Apart from the ridiculous lack of legroom it's quite a nice stadium. Maybe I'll need to book the safe standing area next time
GordonS
Bo'ness Athletic 2-0 Kilwinning Rangers, Scottish Cup Preliminary Round 2. Having seen Athletic beat Beith in the last round I assumed they would be favourites for this one and they were the better side throughout. Kilwinning didn't do a lot wrong, they were just second-best. The result was fair but given the number of chances Athletic created they could have won by more. This side can play and nobody is going to want to draw them at Newtown Park in the next round, including and especially their flatmates. Pie was mildly warm on the outside. Maybe it had cooled down. Nope, room temperature in the middle. They serve the catering from Athletic's own hospitality shed in the corner and it's Not Good.
Groundhopping Adventures
Lochee United 4-0 Hawick Royal Albert Scottish Cup weekend! A day out in the City of Discovery to one of the less obscure non league grounds. Thomson Park Lochee. The hosts are the early pacesetters in the Midland League. Hawick themselves off to a good start and are second in the East Third. Still however a long way from the Lowland League where they were as recently as 2018. Thomson Park is Lesmahagowesque but not on the same level. You come in at the top and the ground is a bowl. A fun set up with the changing rooms and only cover behind the goal. Not needed today. Splitting sunshine with no clouds but with a breeze to make it very pleasant. The visitors started well and only a stramash stopped them taking a surprise lead. The hosts however came into it and two quick goals towards the end of the first half killed it as a contest. Two more in the second half wrapped up a comfortable win and puts United in the 1st round proper as the FA Cup coverage always says. Well worth coming if you get a day like today. Maybe not the best in the Winter. Lochee will be up there at the top of the Midland League again and the Highland and Lowland teams that come in next round won't fancy the trip here.
Craig fae the Vale
Luncarty 4-5 Edinburgh South (after extra time). Alex Jack Cup 2nd Round. Up in Perth for an event tonight and not enough time to go to the Vale game, so headed up early to see this wild back and forth cup tie. East of Scotland First Division side South found themselves 2-0 up on the team from the division above them before the home side took a 3-2 lead. South scored a late equaliser to take it to extra time before scoring twice in the second period to take control. Luncarty got one back with the final kick of the ball. Enthralling game, well worth the £7 entry and one of the best steak pies in the game. Throw in the sunshine and a very decent afternoon was had.
The Mantis
Scottish Cup PR2. Haddington Athletic 1 Auchinleck Talbot 4. At Millfield. The visitors go ahead after about 20 minutes but are pegged back by a superb Luke Kennedy strike before half time. 2 late goals mean the final score flattered Talbot IMO.
Andy groundhopper
Hellenic Lge at Hardwicke P.F for Tytherington Rocks 2 Stonehouse 1 att probs 50+ An excellent break from inside their own half for 01, but then two clangers from the keeper, who dropped crosses in the box resulting in goals.21. Rocks had a great chance to seal it,but the pen flew way into the trees behind the goal.Late pressure almost drew the visitors level, Inc a last minute diving save.

Dan Electro
On the day that Motherwell win in Perth. Walk from Wimbledon town to Plough Lane is similar to Perth City to McDairmaid Park; bereft of pubs. So, the first image speaks for itself. Thereafter, images of the ground, and, of the match. AFC Wimbledon deserved winners. Fantastic view, decent atmosphere, expected a little more, to be honest.
