An interesting wee piece of legal info- if you're placed on Probation (Community Payback Order as it is now) for an offence and it is one that comes under certification in regard to the Sex Offenders Register then the registration period only lasts as long as the Probation e.g. for 2 years even if the offender breaches the Probation and returns to the Court to be sentenced which could be a jail sentence.
If you get a fine however the period of registration is a minimum of 5 years. It can be said that Probation/CPO is usually regarded as a more serious sentence than a fine.
I deal with folk who put their bags on seats by sitting on the bag and hoping it doesn't have eggs or broken glass or something nasty in it. If they object the reply is usually along the lines of "Did you pay for two seats? No? Well f*ck off".
I'm not exactly happy myself but he played for Arniston, Newtongrange and Kelty and I would have thought their committees and players would have had their own doubts.
*insert joke about City being invited to prop up the Government here...
new continental signings have been announced: Tria List from Poland, Anew Man of Germany, Ano Ther from Hungary, Hugh Zee of the Netherlands and the Ukrainian Yuri Kaant.....
Dundonian Terminators- that sounds a bit scary.
"Eh'll be beck.... fur a ingin ane ‘n a'......"
only one thing could save the human race... Biggie's Smudger!
the friendly two years ago was entertaining when the ref asked the Raith bench to sub Christian Nade as he was getting frustrated at being in Big Joe's back pocket!
if Paddy Power don't have a shop there then they're missing a trick..
it also poses the question if that shop is known as Bet Fred East and there's one near Ibrox is that Bet Fred West....
judging by peaking in from the top deck of the bus as it goes past and the clientele, pretty scummy. It was scummy years ago, taken over for a short while and renamed The Cauldron as a sort of bikers/goth/metal pub which was OK and has gone back to being scummy.
it seems to be open in the morning and the guys drinking in there don't exactly look like nightshift workers finishing their shift....
we used to go into the Miners' Welfare after games against Lily- looked rough but was actually OK once inside..
when I was a tax dodging student in Aberdeen 25 years ago the bars to avoid were:
The Seaton aka the Broken Arms
Martins Bar
Broadsword, Tillydrone- BOUNCER: Any weapons on ye pal? PUNTER: Naw.. BOUNCER: Better take this broken bottle then, it's a bit lively tonight..
and the Black Dug had a reputation but I went in once and it was OK
Martins and the Broken Arms seem to look genteel now. It's the same with some pubs in Edinburgh- the Holyrood Bar used to look a bit rough but has now been yuppiefied. On the other hand The Grapes in Clerk Street has gone back to being a watering hole for pure scum.
