  1. Seems to me that the Tories are looking around for anything to cut in order to make a "penny off Income Tax" last throw of the dice move just prior to calling a GE.
  2. The Tories have gone back to openly being the Nasty Party, any pretence has gone - what sort of mindset do these people have?
  3. Doubleplusglad we're only giving them one stand these daze...
  4. Apparently there's a sizeable minority of Tory MPs (60) signed up to Truss' Conservative Growth Group which will keep Sunak steering starboard.
  5. Part of he and David Gilmour's ongoing feud.
  6. Ryder Cup Conundrum - do we celebrate this or is it a pishy woke tournament that true Global Britishers should deride?
  7. What's gonna happen come 2026 when Sellick win their 56th title which seems odds on unless they reappoint Neil Lennon - will the Hordes decamp from Scottish football to follow some other sport like fencing (still popular in their staunchly spiritual homeland of Prussia) and will the Green Brigade still be claiming victim status?
  8. Only 5 days till it's released and reaction to what has already been put out is erm, to put it charitably, mixed.
  9. The puzzle is why so many people buy the propaganda pushed by the MSM. How many people voted Tory during the last decade even though it made them worse off financially with their lives blighted by austerity. Did they really believe it was all down to the imigants?
  10. Shirley it's time to appoint Sevco's only League winning manager - bring him home!
  11. We were in the Top6 when SR arrived the year before, we're only 6 games into the season and have yet to play both cheeks. If you look at the LC this season the outlying result was Killie beating Celtic - the semi-final line up is Rangers and the 3 big city team so that's pretty much the natural order. I'm happy with where we are now, currently the best of the diddy clubs, we're harder to beat than under JG but we're not really much better up front. I just found the two cup results both at the QF stage with identical scorelines interesting and the question relevant -duh1
  12. One of SRs first game in charge was a 4-2 defeat to Hertz in the Scottish Cup, on Wednesday night we lost 4-2 to Hibs in the League Cup - have we made any meaningful progress in the intervening 18 months?
  13. Starmer ditches Labour policy on removing the charitable status of private skoolz - will that gain them any extra votes or is it to spare the blushes of the Shadow Cabinet?
  14. As I said on the RB thread it's not even as if it was a spontaneous rant, LF/DW and the production bosses all knew what was about to be said and deemed it fit for broadcast.
  15. Craziest of all it wasn't LF going on a spontaneous rant, it was pre-panned, as he mentioned when commenting on his suspension...
  16. Arguably 68/69 was our best top flight start as we were still unbeaten and second after 11 games before we fought our way down into the bottom half. St Mirren table(s) on 1968-11-17 (fitbastats.com)
  17. Thanx - googled and it's called the Moorov Doctine...
  18. Bit off-topic but I seem to remember reading at the time of the Alex Salmond trial that there was a principle where the number of accusations eventually became cumulative and counted against the accused - is that distinct to Scottish Law and am I even remembering correctly?
  19. Why? Why must everything must be arranged to suit car owners - speaking as a car owner who travels from Ayr by train when possible and doesn't like the anarchic parking around the ground on matchdays anyway. @Arch Stanton
  20. Why are Labour still matching every populist/rightwards step by the Tories -surely after Truss trashed the economy they shoulda said no further?
  21. Saw a talking heads program during the wee sma hours a coupla weeks back discussing the 2025 renegotiation of the Brexit treaty and one of the speakers from the EU side (he'd been part of the EU negotiating team in the run-up to Brexit) said nothing significant would be discussed until the Tories & Labour were roughly in line as there was no point speaking to Labour for 2/3 years if the Tories just ripped it up upon winning a GE - all that's on offer until then is minor tweaks.
