  1. Had to check on SAF but he was appointed manager in October 1974 so the club should be trying to mend the bridges for this date. As for the Marching On video it was narrated by ex Brain of Britain Bob Crampsey and featured a cameo by Dennis "The Lawman" Law so my guess is these segments were filmed down in Madchester and wouldn't have involved him personally having to meet any club representatives. Anyway we've got 9 and a bit months to get some sort of reconciliation sorted - if he needs it I'll go down to give him a lift up if someone is willing to drive him back down.
  2. Heard from a friend who was a shirt sponsor for Ayr Utd. we'd offered to cover 50% of the wages to shift a coupla players in the January window a few seasons back although in the end the deals never happened. No idea if that's the going rate.
  3. A particularly pleasing three to end the year. Wordle 925 3/6
  4. Even on drugs I've never posted anything as wild as this!
  5. After recent results I was following this on t'internet with a degree of fear but I'm finally starting to relax.
  6. 15 years younger than the hands he's wanking with?
  7. What comes after Gen-Z - will global warming solve the issue? Just curious.
  8. Continuing with the quotes from The Grauniad trend this one must be the winner in terms of chutzpah... Michelle Mone and ministers trade claims over her hidden links to PPE deals | Michelle Mone | The Guardian
  9. I think there are similar cases against other papers who will want to keep their heads down now. Is Piers Morgan officially a liar now?
  10. What sorta pacemaker does it take to get Gerry on stage these daze?
  11. Still wouldn't match the Hapsburgs in terms of physical degeneracy, they deliberately married to close relatives (usually uncle/niece) over 200 years and the last one was severely disabled, had to eat behind a curtain cos he couldn't keep all the food in his mouth, both his wives complained he was impotent - he finally died aged 39 with no offspring. Geneticist looking at his family tree reckon he would have been more inbred than the offspring of a brother and sister. ********************* The longevity of Liz & Phil plus their sprogs suggest there's been some outbreeding somewhere.
  12. Probably better to go that way than pursue purity in the bloodline - you might find the podcast below interesting. Hapsburg Inbreeding with Dr. Adam Rutherford - Not Just the Tudors | Acast
  13. From the outside - are we saying Kettlewell got lucky with Van Veen hitting a hot streak around the time of his appointment?
  14. I think it should be a home thing who gets to be called Saints so you're OK this time......
  15. The figure at the bottom left of the house looks like it could easily be transformed into Santa.
  16. Had two options for Guess 2 - made the right guess! Wordle 897 2/6
  17. That's not what I said, in fact it's the exact opposite, I said (or attempted to) that we can afford a certain calibre of striker and we have to hope/trust that the manager can find a combination that will be more than the sum of the parts.
  18. Robinson can shuffle around the strikers but it's unlikely that any of them are gonna score 15 league goals in the top flight. What we currently have and have to rely on is being a hard working unit where the goals will be spread around - that is the magic bullet for a diddy club like Saints. I've read similar posts to your original most seasons we've been in the top flight.
  19. We can't afford proven top flight strikers (like most of the other diddy clubs), with the exception of Steven Thompson who signed partly for sentimental reasons (and bloody grateful I am for this) the only other 15 goal a season striker (top flight) we've had recently is Michael Higdon, before that it was Frank McAvennie in 84/85 - so one in 40 years. We have to rely on bits and pieces and hope the manager can come up with a formula that will allow a miracle.....
  20. Fuxake - how many more life supports are gonna be pulled today in order to bury the news about the RoyalRacists?
  21. On the one hand this is far less important than them being shameless grifting hypocrites on the other their future relies on them being in tune with the Great British Public - IMO these revelations will have little effect on the latter. ETA - I note The Grauniad has become the first major newspaper to name names. Royals and race: inquiry under way into naming of Charles and Catherine in new book | Monarchy | The Guardian
  22. Fuxake Henry - one day before a December bonus. Bets off fur Krismis No. 1? My recollection is FoNY never made No. 1 on it's original release.
