  1. No the marbles should be sent to India and Greece can have the Koh-i-nor! *************** On a more general note it is clear that Labour is going to match each Tory step between now and the next GE, I feel the period since Truss imploded has been a missed opportunity for them and that Labour would have been better off in terms of representing traditional Labour values and in electoral terms by trying to halt the rightwards march at this point as I don't think the people they're pandering to will vote Labour in the end and that the pledges made in the meantime will hinder them if/when they do win.
  2. The Financial Reports issued by the club are deliberately opaque so it's silly to try and read too much into them but last season included a Top6 finish in the league and an away cup tie to Sellick resulting in revenue by up by well over £1M from the previous season, are we likely to do much better this season? We'll probably have the dilemna of trying to cash in on at least one of our better players in the January transfer window while maintaining our current league position.
  3. Good draw - just have to make sure we're not the upset!
  4. I note El Tel Venables, writer of cult TV show Hazell (you can probably guess the era of the show from the photo) has shuffled off etc.....
  5. I note Tommeh Robinson was arrested at the Antisemitism march in London today, only on a Sunday eh, I wonder what his thoughts on the subject are on the other six days of the week.
  6. As I said elsewhere footballers cheat so I reckon you could disallow most goals if you really wanted to - if VAR was supposed to rectify bias towards the OF than that part has failed. Anyway condolences to Aberdeen - FTOF
  7. Heard a few comments about Tavernier having "balls of steel" continuing with penalty duties after a couple of recent misses. Alternative thought is maybe he's on a goals scored bonus. Anyway condolences to Aberdeen as I don't usually care about their results and only really tuned in to find out the Scottish Cup draw. FTOF
  8. Really pleased with yesterday's result as I always feel it's a bit of a downer losing the game before an international break. The win shows we remain competitive against our fellow diddy clubs (even it they have sussed our style @elvis). A third of the season gone and the division is starting to revert to form, the OF clear at the top but maybe not so dominant as previous seasons and the Edinburgh teams in the Top6 with only Aberdeen lower down the table than you'd expect - I'm hopeful that we can repeat last season and be the best of the diddy clubs. Lang may ye stay Robbo!
  9. Inspired second attempt..... Wordle 890 2/6
  10. Bottom line is professional footballers cheat, I reckon there won't be many goals where there isn't an attacking player bending the rules and you can then go back to when the ball was turned over, there's usually some contact involved - VAR just seems so arbitrary.
  11. Incompetence or a 4D Chess to nudge reunion in Ireland - you'd love to think the latter but really it's just another example of the current generation of Tory ministers not really knowing much about NI or really caring about anything other than feathering their own nests.
  12. Drinks to be followed by a victory stroll for the Baggy Greens.
  13. Barcelona - St. Murn's bitches!
  14. My first game as a 5-y-o, I was lifted over the turnstyles so 43,000 could be an underestimate (!)...... PS - How do you pronounce Gilshan?
  15. That word still sends a shiver down my spine.... The day Hammarby Women took 7,000 fans to an away game – and won the league | Sport | The Guardian
  16. Yet more evidence that the Tories are gonna play to their hardcore vote - Shirley they're onto a hiding a the next GE?
  17. Aye, that'll be a biggie, I'm sensing the love affair between Martindale and the Livi fans is no longer universal. Pity we've got to wait a fortnight - fuck international football.
  18. Shapps doubling down in support of Braverman - as I mentioned above you've got to reckon that her views might be representative of the remaining rump of the current Conservative party.
  19. I think it's more likely he actually agrees with her.
  20. Strange bedfellows - I dread to think of what said "unnamed Sunderland fan" would be saying about Braverman in any other set of circumstances.
