  1. Evil Licorice Allsort with my No.8 Dr. Who.....
  2. Reading a Grauniad article on Maxwell which went off on a tangent to inform us that one should throw away a box of tissues once it becomes half full - lifestyles of the rich and infamous.
  3. Not to mention For What It's Worth seems a bit perverse.
  4. Decided to watch Highlander with my son before checking on the cricket only to find it was game over.
  5. The matter of whether the Royal Family pays for itself or not is a matter of how the figures are interpreted, it falls both ways depending (no doubt) on who commisioned them. As for whether the "Public Service" ethos of the Royal Family makes them preferrable/less grasping than an elected politician as Head of State the answer to that would be the fact mentioned previously that she has used "Queens Consent" over 1000 times during her reign to benefit herself, so absolutely not.
  6. Spent the bulk of her reign protecting her own interest, she's used the "Queens Consent" to seek changes to proposed legislation over 1000 times - that's the hard truth.
  7. You are - the real Hibernian play in Embra.
  8. A 5 point gap between United in 7th & Livi in 8th - you would think it would take some serious work by United to fight their way down into either of the play-off (9 pts) or relegation (11 pts) spots. That leaves 5 teams from Livi to the Fakes in contention for the drop. I still feel the Fakes will come good in the second half but there will be no place for the faint-hearted in any of the bottom5 teams form here on, unfortuntely even with a 5 pt advantage I still reckon they'll finish above us.
  9. Mon the Dons! Meanwhile I'm gonna forget about today and focus on the Krissmass Eve game in 2011 when we beat a 9 man Gers (a little bit of revenge) and sent them on the road to Sevcoisation!
  10. Just checked the scores - tbh if they stay as they are and we come out of the OF games still in ninth I'll be pretty happy..... Over the last few games I've been starting to see a bit of a split with Dundee Utd. having a bit of an advantage over a bottom5 who are all too close for comfort - mon the Dons!
  11. Just bumped into one of my neighbours (we're on "Good Morning" terms but I don't know her name) who asked me if she could "borrow" a doogy poo bag as she had forgotten to pick one up in her rush to get away from her grandchildren - the true spirit of Krissmiss!
  12. The strange (?) thing is England have talked quite a good game whillst being pretty awful on the pitch, on all fronts, they can only hope Australia take their foot of the pedal for the last two Tests.
  13. Seen a coupla mentions for Sabbath and Purple - as a pedant I'd feel the need to point out Sabbath didn't release their debut album until 1970 and likewise Purple (Mk II) didn't release a proper studio album until 70. For me Dylan's best work was in the 70s (Desire, Street Legal) so he's out. I'm almost tempted to put in Pink Floyd for Piper at The Gates of Dawn but the rest of their 60s material is variable in quality. My 5 are The Beatles Jimi Hendrix Rolling Stones (would be in contention for the 70s too, for me anyway) The Byrds The Four Tops (just edge out The Temptations for me on 60s material) ****************** PS - Just to be inconsistent Clapton is a wank even altho his "Vote for Enoch" rant didn't happen until the 70s....
  14. Work just phoned up to offer me 2 night shifts off (tonight and tomorrow) for one day shift (tomorrow). Hooray for Omicron - da, da, da da, da - da, da, da, da-da!
  15. My feeling throughout most of the pandemic is that it is correct to err on the side of caution and for most of it I've preferred Sturgeon's POV to Johnson's but I feel she's over the edge of the cliff now and that if she looks down she'll find like Wile E. Coyote there's no science there to hold her up.
  16. Bar 82 was pretty grim as has been mentioned but was very cheap, OK if you were in a group but I never went in by myself - have the feeling that a lone student would've been easy pickings. I might be confusing Bar 82 with somewhere else but IIRC you could get a half pint of Buckfast. Sammy Dow's on Mitchell St. with it's all you could eat buffet was another health hazard from the 80s.
  17. I'm going to assume he meant "didn't exist in Scotland 3 weeks ago" and that it's not a lie, more an inabilty to express his position cogently - it still leads you to the terracing chant "You don't know what you're doing"!
  18. I quite like The Frog Chorus by Paul McCartney, he did a lot worse in the 80s notably his duet with Michael Jackson The Girl Is Mine - the repartee at the end being particularly cringeworthy.
  19. I think everyone will be looking at the opinion polls in the new year and more importantly the local elections in May, as they say 6 months is a long time in politics.
  20. Nother draw and both cheeks coming up - gulp1
  21. Saint Murns central midfield pairing for a spell in the mid-80s.
  22. I know it's in Germany but do any of you homeworkers have a spiral staircase or possibly a loose carpet to fall over between the bedroom and the home office - will homeworkers have to invest in those Slippery Floor signs?
