  1. You have to applaud the Windies, Pakistan and Australia for making the effort to come over to play this summer. It would have been very easy just to say it was going to be too much hassle and stay at home. Been some excellent cricket and from England's point of view two huge personal milestones for Anderson and Broad.
  2. Morgan gambled everything on Starc not reading the googly and holing out to somebody with a catch. Fair play to Starc though for howking the first ball he faced over the rope for 6.
  3. England get a wicket, but is it too late? Maxwell the man out for 108. 18 from 15 needed.
  4. Australia trying a different tactic of shitting the bed early, 51-3. Warner bowled by Root. Lol.
  5. Impressive from Lopez. Roglic extends his overall lead to 57 seconds, while Lopez moves into 3rd spot.
  6. Lopez in front now, Roglic alone in second with Pogacar battling to hang on to him.
  7. This is brutal stuff. Carapaz out in front but being reeled in by the yellow jersey group which is shedding riders at a rate of knots. Roglic and Pogacar still together, only 3k to go.
  8. Recovered well through a 100+ partnership between Bairstow and Billings, but both went quite quickly. England 221-6 from 41 overs, 300 still in range.
  9. Looks like the greens do with a windmill or a clown's head here and there.
  10. He was very impressive yesterday, left a lot of good riders in his wake. Bernal has withdrawn ahead of today's stage, he was over 17 minutes down.
  11. MacIntyre and Scott paired together along with Kurt Kitayama who MacIntyre pipped for rookie of the year last year. Connor Syme out with Paul Barjon and Marty Jertson. Nope, me neither. [emoji2369]
  12. Will have a few quid on Schauffelle as per usual, it's been very rare for it not to give me something back. Your last point, Monty has been airbrushed from history by the American media in the build up, it was only Phil that flung the tourney away. That was probably the worst 7 iron shot of Monty's life.
  13. Lennard Kamna wins today's stage, with Carapaz second. They were 16 minutes or so ahead of the peloton with Pogacar and Roglic coming in together. Quintana slid off the back on the final climb and shipped a few more seconds. Tomorrow's stage could be a belter with the Col de la Madeleine and a mountain top finish at the even higher Meríbel.
  14. Aubameyang finally signs a new 3 year deal with Arsenal.
  15. You also have the problem of convincing sponsors to part with their cash when there is nobody there to see their adverts in programmes or banners on the fence. Also worth pointing out it's not just the gate money that would be missed, no raffles or programme sales would be a big dent in finances too.
  16. Stansted is 45 minutes by train into Liverpool Street. Decent service, think it was about £30 quid for a single ticket last time I was on it, can save a few quid by booking in advance.
  17. Simon Yates wins the Tirreno Adriatico, Geraint Thomas had put the pressure on with a good TT that eventually saw him into second place overall, but Yates held on to win by 17 seconds.
  18. Love the Italian system. I remember watching Grand Designs in Italy with a couple who were converting an old house into a boarding house. They wanted to put in a swimming pool but were denied permission because they were outside the village. They finally got permission by bunging a local government official to move the village boundary up the road a bit. No cloak and dagger stuff, the official was up front from the start that if they paid enough they would get permission.

  20. It's beginning to look that way for Archer. I still think if he is in the Test team you have to let him bowl flat out in 3 or 4 over bursts. He's not in the team to bowl 85mph or less, they have more than enough bowlers who can do that.
  21. Knox went 63-69-70-70 to end up tied 9th, a welcome improvement on recent form. Stewart Cink, the most unpopular Open winner ever, won the tournament. Liam Johnston couldn't keep up his great start in Portugal and ended up T14th, alongside Grant Forrest. Strangest sight of the weekend had to be the wall at the back of the 18th green at Dinah Shore for the ANA Inspiratio. Normally there would be a grandstand, but instead of just leaving the space and bringing more water into play, they thought sticking a wall around the back edge of the green was a good idea. It gave players the option of not having to worry about holding the green and deliberately playing to hit the wall, knowing they would get a drop away from it if needed. Another dumb move by the LPGA after snubbing Sophia Popov's exemption.
