  1. I've been thinking this for a while. We're the best we've been in my lifetime (I'm 40) and across the board we're excellent. The question for me is who would you swap in from past sides? Perhaps Willie Miller or Andy Goram, but even then Goram couldn't kick. Perhaps Joe Jordan or Mo Johnstone? Dalgleish instead of Christie? Not sure, but I think we're a top side now. More importantly, we believe that we are.
  2. For those of us who dinna hae twitter, fit's happened?
  3. That Falkirk home top is a belter. Reminds me of the mid 90's when you had Richard Cadette playing for you.
  4. Aye I'm needing a wee time out in a sensory room after reading that post.
  5. Depends whose mammy your good lady is Granda.
  6. He's an incredible athlete who shows absolutely no signs of slowing down. I honestly would love to know what he eats on a daily basis. I remember Jermaine Defoe going vegan to prolong his career and I love the new image of a Scottish player being one who eats a shit-tonne of edamame beans rather than fish suppers.
  7. Hopefully they've got a far right government in place by this time next year and will have this ironed out.
  8. I think the demise of a lot of teams can be exaggerated. After we heroically dispatched of them, Serbian fans went into a bit of an existential meltdown. They seem to be fine now.
  9. I thought you were all doing that Wales 2016 team a disservice, but I had a look and, aside from Bale, Ramsey and maybe Allen it's a very workmanlike team but no more. Williams is an excellent CB, but out wide they're mediocre and they had the Welsh Lyndon Dykes up front in Hal RK. I had a look at that Belgium team too and I remember before we played them in qualifying we were genuinely scared of them. I look at that team now and think that there isn't a single player (aside from perhaps De Bruyne and maybe Lukaku as he was then) that I would take in our team. And none that I feel are worth fearing. It's been a nice psychological shift tbh.
  10. Building a touring bicycle over the winter for next summer. Seems like this is lining up perfectly.
  11. He's young yet, he may still make it.
  12. I liked a lot about our performance last night, and it might seem churlish to have a go.... But John McGinn is a terrible passer of the ball. The number of times he was in a good position and either put his head down to run/win a foul, or simply executed a shite pass was infuriating. I love him as a ball winner/player who gets you up the park/scores goals, but he's bloody rubbish at passing.
  13. It's now dawned on me that I won't get to see this team of warrior poets in competitive action for more than two months. Disgusted doesn't even cover it.
  14. That was the performance of a top side who are confident of qualifying but just need to get the job done. We were never in any danger and could have easily won by more. Like Fratelli said further back, I'm pleasantly baffled by this, but really buying into it too. Billy Gilmour was incredible tonight and I honestly think there's better to come from him.
  15. Ach aye, I reckon England will win the next Euros, and possibly the world cup afterwards too. The only thing that might stop them is a historical psychological fragility, but I'm trying not to care. The rest of the big nations being a bit average is good for the neutral, and for us. Who would you want to avoid right now? Maybe Portugal, possibly France, but not that much. It's shite for those of us who would adore seeing England evade a major championship, but they're going to win one in the next decade or so, sadly. Wales getting hounded by Armenia last night was absolutely gorgeous though.
  16. We don't have to worry about Spain at all I think. The psychology of this Scotland team is very different to previous sides. They'll be focussed on each game and not giving a single toss about others in the group. It feels different now somehow, whereas before we'd be getting our scientific calculators to figure out what we needed others to do, I now think we'll beat everyone. I don't see any real evidence supporting the idea Spain will beat us at home. We should have won by more at Hampden. We'll take another three points back from there too.
  17. Wid, needless to say. I've got a powerful (and not entirely welcome) feeling that we're going to qualify with a 100% record. Utter nonsense, of course, but I'm getting right carried away here .
  18. (warning: gory b*****ding animal cruelty, but by another animal). I was out walking my friend's dog today and saw a black lab pinning a seagull down and sniffing it assiduously. Next thing I know it's tearing the wing off and biting chunks out of it. By the time the owner even saw what was happening it was quite dead and being eaten by said hound. Nature etc, but it was a chilling sight.
  19. You and @Monkey Tennis should get married.
