  1. Well, that's that. I'm never eating fresh food again. Pre-processed all the way from now on.
  2. We had loads of kids at our wedding. We planned our day differently - wedding was at 2 (I think), followed by the reception and food. Kids going mental having fun at a wee disco while all hyped up on sugary things. By 5 it was done and everyone went home, then the wife and I went to see a show in the evening. Had we wanted the traditional piss-up into the wee hours we probably would have had to ban kids, or at least discourage them.
  3. Often accompanied by (shouting over the noise of kids getting up to leave) "Remember, read chapters 8 and 9 for tomorrow!"
  4. Talking to the window cleaner a couple of days ago. He was due to do someone's house last Saturday when the rain was torrential. He didn't go, and when he contacted the woman to let her know she apparently gave him a mouthful of abuse.
  5. Classic rock, Glam rock, Grunge, Nu Metal... Rock always changes. But when was it at its best?
  6. My daughter started playing the game and has got right into it. So, I suggested, why not watch the TV show too? Just finished episode 3, with Bill and Frank. As before, so emotional. I've got at least one tear in my eye right now. The most beautiful hour of TV in years.
  7. @Granny Danger and I sometimes bump heads, but this is slanderous. He never, ever, not once said a word about expelling Jews from Israel. Long story short, @Donathanneeds to get a life and stop saying shit like this.
  8. The red warning seems to be between Dundee and Aberdeen. So, nothing to worry about.
  9. My brother hired Neil Warnock and he cancelled at the last minute. Maybe best to avoid him. And - despite being a Bairn - he has hired Jim Leishman more than once. Speaks highly of him.
  10. Really enjoying this thread, but in the interests of balance... What drinking establishments have you been to that were awful? And why?
  11. Nonsense! That episode is an utter, utter classic and more like that would help the peace process.
  12. Red dotted the first one because PLO & Bovril is shite patter. Red dotted the second one because it is untrue. Hope this clears things up.
  13. Baws. Thought this was in the General Nonsense section! Football-related, Falkirk have so, so many. So many chancers who came and messed everything up. So many pisspoor appointments. But the big one is probably when Falkirk appointed John Prentice as manager in 1973. The other candidate/possibility was Alex Ferguson, who was a player/coach at the club at the time.
  14. Article about Brian Cox in today's Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2023/oct/18/brian-cox-succession-game-of-thrones-bach 1. He was offered the role of Robert Baratheon in Game of Thrones and turned it down. 2. Turned down the part of the Governor in Pirates of the Caribbean.
  15. McIlroy, Joshua and Alexander-Arnold among F1 Alpine team co-investors This is a strange one. I saw James Vowels at the last race talking about F1 finances - almost all the teams are making losses. Alpine aren't exactly a big name, they're in a near-permanent state of crisis. Still, free tickets.
  16. Been re-watching the 1960s Batman TV series. I watched it as a kid and never revisited it before. I had no idea it was a complete piss-take. The whole thing is set up as a joke, and as such is very entertaining. It's pure comedy.
  17. I'd just go for the confidence builders. San Marino, the Cayman Islands and Gibraltar. What's the point in facing difficult opponents? Did we really gain anything form getting pumped by France last night?
