  1. Brilliant, thanks! The cost of a new clutch was giving me the fear.
  2. She has some sort of problem with the concept of internet banking and has had a few payments that needed made by bank transfer. She takes the cash out of her account to give to me to pay in to mine at the same bank to transfer for her. On the plus side she hasn't sent me a postal order.
  3. Over 8,000 as of 3 days ago. About normal. Quality over quantity of course.
  4. Hearts have signed an attacking midfielder from Peterborough. Maybe they'll be less interested in Ronan now?
  5. I was on a country lane and got into a multi-car stand off which ended up with me doing multiple hill starts in reverse up quite a steep wet slope. Clutch was smoking quite a lot. Let it cool down and seems to be working now. Do i need a new clutch?
  6. Been looking into the Steel Tariffs thing. In 2018, the orange combover stuck 25% on US imports. (against wto rules) The EU put retaliatory tarrifs on US exports (allowed) then put safeguards in place from 2019-2022 on third countries to avoid dumping of otherwise US bound goods (hotly contested - found in March to have violated WTO rules in part but met others). It is these safeguards that the UK wants to extend. They want to extend them in time and exclude some developing countries from some category exclusions because they exceed minimum quantities. The "UK" steel producers they want to protect include Tata (owned by Indian billionaire) and Celsa (owned by Spanish billionaire). The price of steel is a driver of inflation. Tariffs will keep prices artificially high. 33,400 people work in the UK steel industry. The WTO seems to have gone relatively easy on the US and EU. Fortunately global Britain should have similar clout and be able to throw her weight around, right? Interestingly the quango that was set up to report independently on this has been quite clear that the trade minister has told them what to do and look to be distancing themselves from the conclusions the government has taken from their report. I don't think the government is necessarily riding roughshod over international norms here but i'll be amazed if they're not outmanouvred and embarrassed at every turn.
  7. I don't know the details of what the UK is proposing. I'm sure it's a coincidence that Trump got a lot of redneck support from illicit steel protectionism.
  8. Any young CB's breaking through? Expect Hancock will get the odd half-hour.
  9. Interesting. Hilariously hypocritical of the EU to warn against "protectionism" Good to see the UK standing up to those b*****d developing countries and Labour in meek agreement.
  10. By my count, not counting youngsters still to break through properly and assuming Ferguson is off: Goalies: x2 potential 1st team-DONE RB- Richardson, McCrorie as cover- nice to have more, not a priority CB- Stewart, Scales, Bates. Need 1 more ideally 1st team quality (assume this could be Dunne) LB- McKenzie, Hayes as cover, Scales an option. nice to have more, not a priority CM- Ramadani, Barron, McCrorie, Polvara. Bit light on options but could suffice. Needs more attacking mentality. Priority. Wide- Besuijen, Kennedy, McLennan, Hayes. Only Vinny is first team quality there. Priority. Forwards- Watkins, Ramirez, Miovski. Bit light but not a priority. My order of priority would be: Winger Attacking CM CB LB Big lanky target man RB I do remember typing on here in one of McInnes final games that McCrorie should never play RB again, but he looked fairly assured there last season. Don't see him as a CB option though.
  11. This sounds great. the original still makes me laugh just thinking about it

    The Boys

So far this is the best season of what looks like an all time great series.
  13. If you like that sort of thing, simply sit on the street with an upturned hat.
  14. It was Gallagher who walked away and St Mirren came crawling back to extend a one year offer to two years.
  15. They had Rolf Harris one year. Tom Jones did the year before and was class. I haven't been for over a quarter of a century but it was really brilliant as a teenager. Lots of the highlights weren't even music. Spent hours in the comedy tents, watching circuses, even watchex Mike Leigh's Naked in the cinema tent. By 1995 the big metal walls had gone up and there were loads of theiving b*****ds there just to rob tents. That coincided with it becoming wall to wall on the bbc. Still had Pulp's legendary late stand in set which was a real highlight but it felt more like festivalcorp
  16. I don't think we'll stroll the league but if we don't have it sewn up before May I'll be disappointed
  17. I am really enjoying Rangers being anti establishment class-warriors. Fight the power brothers.
  18. Never thought i'd see a thread stared by @Richey Edwards and think "good thread". I consider myself to be probably a bit further along the spectrum than most but not to the point where it causes real problems or harm for me. But i absolutely sympathise with people who have more significant difficulties reading other people. I don't mean i feel sorry for them i mean i think I get it, a bit. "neuro diversity" is a great phrase. As a species we need to diversify to evolve. "disorder" is a shite word. It implies a fault. Not thinking in the same way as the majority is not necessarily a fault. Maybe if people were led less by emotional reactions and more by reason the world would be a better place.
