Thought Gallagher played well tonight and certainly deserves to be in the squad at least for the playoffs. McKenna still occasionally gives me Grant Hanley bombscare vibes so I'm not 100% convinced he's the long term solution at centre back. At least its starting to look like we have half decent options at cb rather than picking the least worst two.

Decent performance against a team we should absolutely be beating homr and away so lets not get ahead of ourselves. On that performance, Palmer is a good option at right back, but i would still like us to try Tierney there to see if he can fit in. Naismith is another good option, but dont like him as an out and out striker. He's better linking midfield and attack. Wasnt as convinced with Jack as others seem to be. Thought he looked good when he played quickly, but too often took 3 or 4 unnecessary touches. That would likely get caught out against better teams. McTominay and McGinn a must in the first XI, but I thought McGregor was better than Jack tonight and is therefore still ahead of him in the pecking order for me. With Robertson, Cooper and McTominay to come back into the starting team and Tierney, Fraser and hopefully Griffiths to come back into the squad at least, its a decent place to be. Bring on the playoffs.

I'd say it's more the biased opinion against anyone who "husny played eh game". There is a collective heads gone at the thought of someone without a career in professional football knowing more about it than them. Yet these same twats will talk up the likes of Brendan Rodgers and Jose Mourinho without even the slightest sense of hypocrisy.

What I find staggering about people like Willie Miller is how someone who was so clearly talented as a player and has experience of being a manager can offer so little insight as a pundit. He needs emptied, not because he comes across as an arsehole or has apparent grudges against certain people, but because he is fucking terrible at the job he is, I assume, paid very handsomely to do.

For me he isnt great, isnt shite, just consistently okay. Which, compared to how shite the rest of the defence is, makes him far and away our best and most consistent defender. He's like when an average looking burd is surrounded by absolute munters, she looks helfy in comparison.

I'd take him back, if only to allow Penrice to move into central midfield.

The thing is, there is nothing wrong with media, pundits, etc. wanting an Old Firm final as they are the two best teams, biggest rivals, sold out stadium and possible guide to who is favourites to win the league yadda yadda yadda. Same way they would want Man City v Liverpool, Real Madrid v Barca, etc. But to assume all other fans of Scottish football want to see it is just insulting. Without even remotely liking either Hibs or Hearts, I'd have had a fucking stauner if both of those teams had won and we had an all Edinburgh final. The collective seethe would have been beautiful.

Whats the most realistic scenario in January punting-wise? Personally, I'd prefer McCall to take his time and build a squad capable of challenging for promotion, even if that means sacrificing the remainder of this season while he builds said squad (while avoiding relegation obviously). Goalkeepers - Keep Fox and Sneddon for now. Fox to get punted in the summer. Defenders - Punt Hall and Robson in January. - O'Ware to be mutally consented in January and probably re-join Morton. - Total clear out in the summer with the exception of Penrice. Midfielders - Punt De Vita and Cole to parent clubs and Mitch Austin. - Punt Harkins, who will be lucky to ever play full-time football again. - Punt Gordon, Wilson and Cardle in the summer. Strikers - Punt Jones. - Send Mansell off on loan to a Queen's Park or the likes. Rebuild for next season starts with Sneddon, Penrice, Bannigan, Miller (if not retired), Slater and Zanatta.

Whats your thoughts on Ian Harkes? Was quite impressed by him Tuesday night and theres certainly a player there, but you hardly ever seemed to go through him.

I think thats a general problem with football "analysts" in general, not just Dodds. They make absolutely no effort to educate those watching, instead they go on about confidence, conviction and other buzzwords which mean they dont have to do their actual jobs. Striker balloons the ball over the bar from 10 yards out - "he's not hit that with any confidence". Utter shite. What about the strikers body position? Timing of the shot? Is his standing foot planted correctly? Etc. They should be talking as if they taking a coaching session rather than just saying what they, and everyone watching, can clearly see. Always find athletics and snooker commentators/analysts are good for this. Walk away feeling youve learned something.

Whats the deal with Kerr continuing to play? Cant think of too many recent examples of player managers being good in both roles. Given your smallish squad, how big a loss would Kerr be as a player?
