I have heard it said that Washington DC was a boring craphole (usually by New Yorkers) but I know a guy who worked there for a few years and had been told the same - came back and said that although it didnt have the "mega factor" of NY attractions / venues etc it was barry, great wee pubs and loads of small music venues and cracking restaurants.
